Targus Intellect 15.6" Laptop Backpack $13 @ Harvey Norman (Was $48)

2140

Laptop Backpack has a side loading, padded laptop compartment with a quick access pocket for storing your accessories, and is designed to fit laptops up to 15.6”.

Has been posted here in the past but the cheapest it has been I think. Currently $39 at JB HiFi. Saw it for about $20 - $30 at some online stores, but usually can't pickup from them and shipping $10 or more.

I just bought one click & collect, plenty of stock around it seems.

  • Any idea if a 17" laptop would squeeze in?

    • See comments in previous deals, someone said that it did.

  • That looks sweet for the price.

  • Purchased thanks

Very nice bag - I have one!

It really feels like a high quality item and would recommend it!!

    • Is it waterproof?

      • Yes, see the description on the website

        • I saw it on Harvey Normans website only, the Targus website and other sellers don't mention waterproof. If i'm riding my bike for 15 mins in the pouring rain don't want all my stuff to get ruined.

          @scraggers:
Same here, I need one for my motorbike. Got hosed down on the way home yesterday and although my current bag is supposed to be waterproof things were a wee bit damp. I found that items touching the wall of the backpack seem to absorb water through the fabric.
So I'm looking for a waterproof backpack without too many straps etc. hanging off. This would fit the bill if it were waterproof.

        • @coldturkey: Yup, have the exact same prob. Have one of these things for my current backpack which does the job, but a pain to carry around: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Waterproof-Travel-Camping-Hiking-…

          Hoping someone can confirm..

Does anyone else feel embarrassed when they see someone else in public using the same bag?

    I keep hoping others won't notice otherwise they'll know I'm a cheapskate.

    • +13

Take one to know one. Just give them that knowing Ozbargain nod.

  • grabbed one, thanks!

  • +1 looks like a steal for that price. Bought one, Thanks!

  • +2

bought three for me and the family. We are going to look like the biggest nerds with all matching bags :)

  • External / any drink bottle holder?

Doesn't seem to be… ah well, nothing wrong with my Everki Flight anyway

    • I looked at this one but it appeared way too bulky and too many pockets. What do you think?

      • I have owned one since 2011, bought at Dick Smith around half price.

It is a great bag, only downside might be that it seems to be bulkier than it is. Meaning all the pockets and extra sections means you lose a bit of space inside, but is nice to be able to separate things like a Tablet etc. The Laptop section is quite big and handy, it's designed to open out for airport inspections etc.

It is my daily work bag and overnight bag whenever travelling.

Everki replaced mine under warranty, after I owned it for 3 years (2014)! The bag was still usable. Mine had a few small scuffs and scratches but one of the clips (to join the bag in the centre) had come off, which I personally liked to use.

        Sorry TL;DR
        I haven't found a better bag.

  • Bought one, thanks.

  • Bought

    Thanks OP

  • +2

Bought one when it was 18$, pretty small, enough for a laptop and a few books.

  • +1

Ahh always looking for ways to port my laptop around on the motorbike - looks good for $13 pickup thanks.

  • For anyone with back or neck problems, I recommend finding a backpack with a horizontal strap across the front. Makes a huge difference. Looks like this one doesn't have it.

  • +2

    Sold out everywhere

    • -2

Key is to order early and pickup straightaway. You snooze you lose

      • oh really captain obvious, is that the key is it?
maybe the key is to stop people like you from purchasing 7 at a time.

        • -2

buddy dont cry if you miss out - I didnt even know about the deal - not everyone knows about deals from OzB.
Dont talk about stopping people if you dont have the authority, keyboard warrior. Now go back inside the hole you crawled out from

        • @macksta:
          I didn't miss out, buddy.
and don't cry 'keyboard warrior' just because someone singles you out you little man.
now if I had threatened to smack you upside your thick head then I'd be a keyboard warrior.

      • Saw the deal 5 hours after it was posted. Bought it straightway. Still waiting for an email to pick up.

  • Thanks OP. I got one. There was more at City Cross, Adelaide.

    • That would be right, I was there a day early apparently. lol

  • Just got a call from Harvey Norman, no stock so they need to transfer it to another store.

Don't be surprised if your order gets cancelled.

    • which store was this?

      • Gordon

  • Just got a call from Aaron (Harvey Norman - Epping) no stock and they will refund the charge

  • Thanks OP!

  • Nearest with stock
    McGraths Hill

    LOL

    • i had to buy from here too

I rang a few of the sydney stores, they said there were several people who bought out all the bags in bulk orders, 5,10,15 per order for e.g. to sell on Ebay most likely.

  • I missed out on Timbuktu one and was about to jump on this but looks like it's out of stock? Can't click and collect from any stores near me! :(

  • For anyone interested in this but missed out: http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id…

It's $19.00 - but still very good deal for the quality!

  • 2 left in Moe, Vic (3825) at the moment. Probably not much help.

Also saying stock available in Traralgon, Warragul and Sale.

  • +3

Moving out of home this weekend and having to spend $4031 on rent/bond/furniture/truck rental and so on. Doesn't stop me buying 2 of these bad boys.

Bargains can never be ignored, no matter the circumstances.

    • How are you going to eat?

  • Just saw these instore, they are very average to poor quality, what you would expect from $15-20 backpack. Looks better in the picture that what they are…

  • Completely out of stock now

    • Is that NSW & VIC only? Looks like some stock in other states eg TAS/QLD/SA/WA.

Got 7 of these this morning and going to post it - guess too late

    • -1

What did you need 7 for?

      • -1

Resale on EBay or Gumtree I guess :)

        • I tried the Gumtree business long time ago and failed - mainly due to dealing with people who just like to haggle and dont buy -
going to give them as gifts to some nephews and nieces.

  • Would I be able pop in a keyboard around just larger than a tenkeyless keyboard and a mouse along with the laptop?

  • not a great bag. its okay … but there is zero padding for the laptop so don't drop the bag on hard ground.
    also not waterproof

  • bought one in the morning, still haven't received confirmation to pick up. at Sydney

  • No stock around me, not sure if it's worth $20.95 delivered

    • hi, check out the comment i just posted.

  • Bought one thanks.
Just 6 left at Armadale store WA at 4pm western time.

  • +2

Saw a guy bought 4 of these at Osborne Park, WA location. There were 2 left, but after careful inspection, I decided to get the Toshiba one instead. The one that was mentioned above for $23. Targus one is not as padded as the Toshiba one and has less compartments, and no bottle holder on the side. They have at least 4 of the Toshiba one.
