    Does it come in White?

I've tried Black, but I prefer a W Anker… (To match my iPad.)

      W Anker definitely match you

yes, I have no interest in a B Anker.

I'd like one in daffodil, D anker.

    • What about a yellow one? Quite similar to the white I hear…

  • They're sold out of the au plug :(

  • What's the difference between this and the Tronsmart QC charger?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/239558

    • well i perfer the trons over this one becasue of the qc 2.0

    • +1

Anker is a well known brand, known to make high quality products (in particular USB). Tronsmart is a newer, less established brand, but supposedly using the same factories. Many people have good experiences with their products (I have three of their chargers), although there are complaints about the durability of their micro USB cables.

Otherwise, it's 6-ports/60W vs 5-ports/54W with QC2.0 (faster charging, if your device supports it).

Personally, I think you can't go wrong with either…the only thing that will make much difference is if you have a QC2.0 compatible device (I don't), in which case, go the tronsmart.

I have an Anker that is a few years old now and is still working perfectly.

All the Tronsmart and Blitzwolf chargers I've bought have at least one USB socket that doesn't work now.

      • I am currently using the 5-port Anker and it's been working fine apart from one blown port.

Having said that the Tronsmart is def a better buy as it's cheaper and supports QC2.0.

Choice is simple imo, get the Tronsmart.

      • Agree Tronsmart is reliable having had one for several months. At least one QC is worth having.

      • Well. Sounds like there isn't much point in me buying this when I already have the other.

I have no QC2.0 compliant devices afaik. All my stuff is Apple, and the only non-Apple devices I ever connect are a Dualshock 4 or 3ds (to the non-QC2.0 port)

        Thanks, guys

    • Never had a Anker charger, but had an Anker 8+1 port USB3.0 hub died after 13 months.
Have been using a Tronsmart QC charger for the past 11 months without any issue.

  • Orico are also having a sale on their stuff (including various USB chargers).

I've got a few of their chargers / USB3 hubs, and they're pretty decent quality.

Gotta use the aliexpress iPhone/Android app though. Add to cart on website, then refresh cart in the app, then checkout. Easiest way to browse/buy.

  • Is this this one: http://www.cablechick.com.au/cables/anker-premium-60w-6-port…

I've got one of those, it's properly terrific. For $33, even considering the nuisance of incorrect cord, it's probably worth a go for the discerning OzB pundit.

  • Excellent chargers. Bought a couple last time I was in the US.

  • I've had this exact one for about a year or so and it's awesome. Might by one or two more at this price! (Think mine cost me about $80 landed).

Great for travelling. Barely takes up any more room than a normal charger, but can charge all our stuff off one plug.

They need to start putting USB-C ports on these things or they will only be useful for mooring a boat…

    • Blackfyre - thanks for restoring my faith in humanity.

  • how do these compare to the tronsmart charger thats going for a similar price

    • -3

      Are you serious???

    • +1

It's come down to do you need Qualcomm Quick Charge. If you have a device in the QC device list, it's be charged quicker with QC compliant charger.

Otherwise, this Anker charger can charge up to 2.4A/port, while Transmart Elite can only can only charge up to 2.1A/port.

      • I think with the current price on special I'm looking st the tronsmsrt Titan

  • Only EU plug type available?

  • These are excellent. I bought one to replace many other cheap brands that I have tried and they have all failed. But this Anker unit is amazing. Never failed, never overheated when I had multiple things plugged in. Definitely recommended, especially if you are a frequent traveller.

Also you can buy a 2 prong AU power cord from eBay for a few bucks if you do not want to use a plug converter.

  • How do we know this is genuine Anker? There are many Anker counterfeits out there and given this is being sold out of Ali Express I'd be suspicious..I know it says "Anker Global Store" but that doesn't mean anything as its just the name the seller picked.

    • Probably should have thought of that before I bought two — oh well, i'll report back in 15-45 days :/

  • Here is a report of how dangerous a counterfeit Anker product is

    http://www.amazon.com/review/RLQRIBKHW5A6I

Cheap and nasty chinese cables\power supplies\chargers are a risk only that only poor or desperate should indulge in
Someone should contact Anker regarding this seller BEFORE taking a risk

    • +1

      buy one
      check if counterfeit once received
      submit PayPal claim.

Claims to do with counterfeit items don't require you to return it, meaning you get your money back AND ~$10 of cheap Chinese electronics to play around with.

Edit: would not recommend using the device until you're sure it's legitimate.

      • Great advice but only if there is an easy way to check this actual product
As examining counterfeits vary between each type of product
Some you may have to pull apart and compare to genuine the problem being someone with both products willing to conduct a thorough investigation

If anyone here is inclined then contact anker and they should be able to advise if this product is in counterfeit state, if the seller is a fraud and the easiest way to check this actual product

That said people here I assume will still use a fake and potentially unsafe item and laugh that they scored it for free but at least your last words were the wisest

Don't forget in this case no PayPal on AliExpress. Be dealing with your CC provider or AliExpress buyer protection.

Actually, I recently had a counterfeit item claim on PayPal and was required to return it first (though wasn't a $10 item.)

        • +1

You must've pressed the wrong options ("cheaper substitute", "missing parts", etc), you have to declare it as "counterfeit" with NO other boxes ticked.

      • I don't think that's true…
I had a counterfeit claim with PayPal (purchase was through eBay) about 9-10 months ago.
PayPal wanted me to return the item to the seller before I could get a refund. The item was only $8 so I couldn't be bothered using my time to get the money back.

        • As mentioned above, you have to click the "counterfeit" box as the reason for dispute, with no others ticked. It's quite confusing when there's an option "cheaper substitute".

  • Anyway to sign up for an account without having to download an app?

    • When you follow the link to the webpage. There is a word Join at top right corner for you to sign up.

  • FWIW, I also contacted Anker to ask about the AliExpress store though they only replied today, with:

Thank you for your interest in our products. No, they are not a authorized Anker reseller.

So which of their customer service reps do we believe?

    • The matter gets murkier, how customer service reps can give a total differnt answer! Can someone shed some light on how to verify the genuineness of the store.

My reply email is as follows
