The Prouds Jewellery store in the CANBERRA CENTRE STORE ONLY is closing down.

Everything INSTORE is 30-50% off RRP (not "UP TO 30-50% off", everything IS 30-50% off).

They don't have high end watches, the best ones there were some Seiko Kinetics and Citizen Eco-drives. I think I picked up one of the last remaining mens Citizen Eco-drive for $149.50, down from $299. Not many of the Seiko Kinetics left either.

The other watches are pretty ordinary (Casio, Pulsar, Elite, etc), but at 50% off might appeal to some.

I don't know when the last day is, until all stock is cleared out I assume. The displays are starting to get empty so I'm pretty sure this is a real closing down sale. Note: I've put the main website in because the OzBargain post requires me to, and the expiry date is the last day (unless sold out prior).

    Normally jewerally sales are total crap, but Prouds is normally cheap anyways, so this sounds good! Too bad I am in QLD!

    Is it known why they are closing down? seems a little strange but maybe there are too many jewelery stores in the city center?

      ^ Goldmark closed down just last year as did Bevilles, so there isn't really a heap of competition at the Canberra Centre. I personally think it's the rent.

        Correct, I overhead the sales chick talking to another customer about it. The rent Canberra Centre wanted to charge them in their current location was too high. Apparently they were offered a spot over the other side near ALDI but the location isn't as good, so at the moment there are no plans to re-open elsewhere yet.

        So this leaves just one Prouds store in Woden.

    I went there today. The last day of business is 9 May 2010 unless sold out.

    Thanks, seems like a great time to shop for a mothers days present. The rent in the Canberra centre is through the roof - it is a wonder any of the smaller traders can survive.

    FYI, the pharmacy next door to Prouds (now closed) is relocating. Everything in store is 20% off.
