Price of Kia Sportage Platinum and Mazda CX-5 Akera?

Hi,

We have been looking to buy a medium size SUV and have narrowed the search to Kia Sportage Platinum or Mazda CX-5 Akera. We aren't too fussed about a 2015 plated car as we aren't buying to sell it anytime soon so in 15 years it's not going to matter….

I was wondering if anyone has any idea of price on these two cars? I can negotiate but don't know how much is the lowest I should aim for. The prices seems over inflated and car dealers expect you to negotiate.

Here's one from Car sales.. Don't know why price is $36k on this. We can buy from Melbourne or Sydney, will prefer Melbourne though.

Any advice will be appreciated.

  • my idea of these cars is that the dealer starts at the RRP

that is not what you want to pay

YOU need to do some proper research

what is the RRP of the EXACT model you want (colour, gearbox, extras etc…etc…)

then you need to go and drive THAT MODEL

    then post back

  • The new Sportage is a country mile better than the old one….especially the top model.

  • imho 2.0 N/A engine will hugely disappoint you in both cars

    • 2.0 litres only in the underpowered base variants, Akera has either 2.5 petrol or 2.2 diesel, and Sportage platinum has 2.4 petrol

  • Have a look at the WP forum, looks like 47.5-48.5 should be achievable for the Akera with accessories

  • Go for Hyundai Tuscon Highlander. Cheaper with extra features. Better than both you requested.
