One thing you could do is go to a restaurant , have a bottle of wine with dinner. Tell the waiter you are driving so you'll only have one glass and take the rest home.

It is such a stupid law. Police want to stop drink driving but laws restrict selling liquor on (some) public holidays so people have to drive to go and have a drink.
I don't get what they are trying to achieve by closing bottle-os but restaurants can still serve drinks. I don't see the point.
Pretty sure this unique to Australia as well.
It's illegal on Good Friday including takw-away from pubs. Might need to take a trip to the local pub for food and grog combo on-premise ;)
