Thanks! I've been waiting on a deal for a 3TB+ portable drive. I've actually been looking at the Officeworks website regularly too. Thanks again.

Is 3gb reliable? My 3gb desktop one died one day. Then found neg comments online the 3gb desktop version very faulty

    • no idea, try google, or ask in this last deal if anyones had any problems

i've had mine on 100% load for the past 4 weeks and they are still fully functional lol.

      • Well that's a lot of po…

  • Can this be pulled apart and put into a PS4? Or anyone have any recommendations for doing that?

    • you can't because this is a thicker drive!

you need a standard thickness one, like the one in the 2tb version.

  • Anyone know if this comes with any NTFS writing software for OSX? My last one did but that version has been made redundant.

Would save me an extra $20 if it did

    • You can partition a large HD into smaller chunks of NTFS via Disk Utility for free on a Mac

    • I use Paragon 14 (which I got on special a while ago) but I've also used OSX Fuse in the past which is free and works well too. They both allow you to write to NTFS volumes.

If you're using it just for your Mac then I would reformat it to Mac OS Extended (journaled) format.

Not sure how familiar your with all of that so just thought I'd share my thoughts.

      • Thanks, I ended up buying a copy of paragon which seemed decently priced before the Aussie exchange rate kicked in :/

FYI: there is no software on the HDD, so additional software is needed for OS X.

  • Has anyone purchased this or has one similar and has feedback with use with a pc / mac? A little bit cautious with sea gate as I have had issues in the past although the 3 year warranty is helpful and the price for 3tb is fantastic.

  • This is no longer a "deal" anymore. Officeworks have now officially listed it as their new everyday price.

just picked one up today, they had them hidden in a cabinet because the 2tb's were the same price lol, i guess if they put the 3tb's out nobody would buy the 2's
