  • What are we meant to do when it is time to renew? Pay full price? Or move to another provider who has a "Special" on?

    • Probably jump to another provider, I think would depends on whether you think the service is worth paying full price for.

For basic web hosting I just jump ship if there's similar 'special' on, but If I can I try to purchase multiple years of hosting @ whatever discount and reassess at the end of term.

The times I've jumped ship was where the service was degraded and didn't seem good value, I stuck with JumbaHost for a number of years paying full price because the hosting decent.

      • As was explained in our response to Draxxx's comment just now, we definitely recommend taking advantage of our Customer Appreciation Week sale every November.

Alternatively our MEGAMayMonth promotion is coming up and is always a fantastic way to save on our services and get some awesome freebies too!

  • +3

Yeah, as an existing customer, it'd be nice if they offered something for us..

    • +1

Agreed. I signed up for 3 years. But I am worried about when the contract is up. Given all their specials exclude their current customers I will likely jump ship. Still 1 year to go…

Costs 80% time/effort/expense to get a new customer and 20% to retain one.

      • It's important to note that every year in November we run our Customer Appreciation Week sale where all discounts and promotions are geared toward our existing customers.

This includes renewal discounts across our entire product line and gives you a fantastic opportunity to save on the renewal costs associated with any of the services you may want to keep around for another year.

We've run this sale every November for years now so you can definitely count on it being around again November 2016!

        • Every week should be customer appreciation week! :)

So how does it work if I act on the deal in November but my current plan doesn't expire until March?

        • I do remember that from last year. Thought there may have been more opportunities, but one is better than none.
Thanks very much for the notification Rep. Can you advise (exactly or generally) which week in November it will be so
I can make a reminder to keep an eye out for the deals? Cheers!

        • @glenn955: Yeah, same situation for me, July '17 expiry.

        • @Draxxx: We sincerely appreciate all of our customers here at VentraIP Australia and are always looking for additional feedback to keep everybody 100% satisfied. Feel free to contact us any time by email, eTicket, or by giving us a call on (03) 9013 8464 to speak directly to one of our lovely support staff. :)

Fortunately you can add additional time to your existing service even if it's not technically due for renewal! Any additional time you wish to add to your service will stack onto the existing renewal date.

For example, let's say you have a Business PLUS hosting plan that expires in July 2017 but want to take advantage of a discounted renewal rate being offered during our Customer Appreciation Week promotion in November 2016. If you were to renew your service for an additional 2 years, your new expiry date would then become July 2019.

I hope this makes sense! If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. :)

        • @ventraip: Awesome. Thanks Rep.
I will say this about you guys, Your customer service is pretty amazing.

        • @ventraip: Wasn't that limited last customer appreciation week??? You could only renew services (or add more time) when they expire in the next 12 months …
