Looking for a Good Scanner

I have been pretty good in the last 12 months at going fairly paperless with a combination of Evernote and Onedrive but I really want to make an effort to start scanning those pesky document that still come as paper.

Looking for a suggestion of a good dedicated scanner with the capability to upload to Onedrive. Has anyone got some good suggestions?

Looking for a good printer to go paperless

Simple Translation: looking for a scanner ?

    • Haha yes a scanner, it has been a longer day. No more printers in this house!

  • Just buy a wireless all in one printer. You might not print anymore, but a AIO wireless printer works out cheaper than buying a dedicated scanner with wireless functions.

There are not that many dedicated wireless scanners on the market, and the ones that do exist tend to be quite pricey.

My Canon Pixma MX340 only cost me $94 dollars, it comes with a document feeder for scanning as well. Very handy for scanning multiple page documents. Compared to buying a Canon CanoScan LiDE120 scanner for $125 bucks from Harvey, the Pixma was a much better buy.

  • Any suggestions for a multifunction scanner/printer with auto duplex scanning (ie you don't have to turn the paper around to scan the other side).

Ones that claim duplex scanning usually implement this in software, and I'm afraid I might feed it the wrong way or somehow it won't work.

  • Don't go near a Canon P-150, which I bought for Evernote integration.

20 sheet auto feeder - no chance - multiple pages always get sucked through together.

Plus the slightest imperfection to the leading edge of the paper will caused it to snag and go through crooked.

Sometimes it takes mere seconds to scan a page, sometimes I'm struggling for minutes getting it to feed properly.

Evernote integration is good though - one button press and it's in. Also good for narrow receipts. Auto deskewing, auto double side recognition.

  • Happy to take the printer suggestion they just take up a lot more precious desk space. Also don't want a stupid printer that won't let me scan because there isn't ink or the ink has dried up.

  • You could probably grab a used AIO off Gumtree for $50 or even less with a cactus printing function. I was very impressed with my Epson TX700W scanner quality before I smashed that POS hulk-style when the print quality suddenly worsened. My new Brother MFC-J4620DW scanner function sucks in comparison.
