    Tried feebay or scumtree?

  • JB Hi-Fi? Gamestraders?

    • wow didn't know jbhifi sold old games guess i be going there to check for some games!

      • They do, but the range is fairly limited compared to EB Games.

        • Also used prices tend to be higher at JB than EB I find at least. EB is more likely to mark something down than JB is for whatever reason.

  • If you want cheap, go eBay. Both JB and EB have similar prices for preowned games in my experience, and neither are worth it when you end up getting so little off.

  • Pawn Shops

  • Umm… me?

I was going to sell these on eBay or Gumtree but haven't gotten around to it yet.

    I have for sale:
    - Super Mario 3D Land
    - Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy
    - Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros.
    - The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes

Off the top of my head. Might have more, don't think so. PM me if you're interested.

    • eBay (generally fair value, unlikely to get bargains there unless you snag a lucky auction)
    • EB Games (widest range generally, but unless it's a rare game, probably only buy from there during sales or if you're doing trade-ins)
    • JB Hi-Fi (limited range…and their prices aren't that much better than EB - they also don't do sales on their preowned 3DS titles for the most part)
    • Gumtree (sometimes you can get bargains, but more often than not they're fair value)
    • The Gamesmen (unless you live near them in NSW, you'd have to get it shipped, but they do have a decent range…but they're generally at fair value or higher)
    • 3DS groups such as on Facebook (usually deals in these groups are either fair value or lower because the seller is likely selling to someone who is actually going to play the game)
    • Cash Converters (range can vary per store and depending on whether people have actually traded in or not…usually fair value, sometimes cheaper)

What games in particular are you after, and your budget for each game?

  • Just out of curiosity - did the resale value on second hand games drop much at all when the 3DS recently became entirely soft-moddable? I mean it's fairly trivial to install the required software and the ROMs are available online without too much effort. I know it killed a lot of the value on the last-gen DS games when $2 flashcarts became available.

    • interesting I wasn't even aware that was the case now. I knew flash cards were a thing but I thought it was DS emulation only not 3ds carts or full cfw with rom support.

Hmm I wonder how much this will effect sales on software as I feel like flash cards were a great solution for parents didn't need to do anything other than throw it in the system since most came with games on the card. I don't know how many people actually knew how to add games to it. I'm guessing parents won't attempt a soft mod for fear of breaking it. Kids may if they're even slightly technically competent.

    • There's no 3DS flashcart available that can play 3DS roms as far as I know. As for DS games, certain DS games keep their value, such as Chrono Trigger.

      • There are a couple, Gateway and Sky3ds. Been around for a few years

  • I've been collecting for a while now (3ds games). Ebay is meh for preowned, you will get ripped off for prices. Most people on ebay sell the game for almost the same price as new.

The best atm for finding 3ds games for good prices preowned is ebgames, Gumtree would be second, But when there are constant sales, you wouldn't need preowned unless you want a game that isn't currently selling. Like now target having a massive clearance sale on 3ds games. Got 4 3ds games for 90$.

Only buy preowned games If and only you want a game that isn't currently selling in the market (e.g. blazblue continuum shift II, bought this for 20$ at ebgames)
