Its a good deal if you want US Servers, as they use the ones in Chicago.

    Hey,

I used justhost in the past and never again. They're customer service is shocking plus they lost ALL of my data without telling me, then put up a backup from 6 months prior. After calling/emailing asking what was going on they finally told me they had a Hard drive failure and that it was ok because they had put up backups….even if they were 6 months old.

Not worth it, spend the money on a decent host and save yourself the effort of having to deal with them!

It's a great price. However, seems like there's a lot of mixed opinions about their service.
Anybody else been with em for more than a year?

    From their Help Centre:

What is the maximum php upload file size on your servers?
The maximum php upload file size is 2 MB on our shared hosting servers. A higher file size is only available on a Just Host Dedicated Server account.
Please contact our sales department for more information on [email protected].

    From their T&C:

    • Any file over 40MB in size will not be backed up onto our backup servers and in the event of server failure, will not be recoverable.
    • Just Host shall not be responsible for any damages to the User Content, the User Web site or other damages or any malfunctions or service interruptions caused by any failure of the User Content or any aspect of the User Web site.
    • User is solely responsible for making back-up copies of the User Web site and User Content.
    • Just Host does not maintain backup copies of User Web sites or e-mail. Just Host cannot guarantee that the contents of a Web site will never be deleted or corrupted, or that a back-up of a Web site will always be available. Users should always copy all content of a Web site to a local computer and Just Host strongly suggest that Users make an additional copy (on tape, CD, multiple floppies, another desktop, or elsewhere) to ensure the availability of the files.

    Can't say they're very reassuring…

    • I guess you get what you pay for. I gather David Thorne from 27bslash6.com had trouble, too: http://twitter.com/27bslash6/status/10707280451

That said, at this price, this looks like a good deal if one is in need of personal hosting. Just wouldn't go near it for anything important.

      EDIT: Oops, wrong deal…

no deal, they always have this 50off voucher available, apart from that there is a secret link at the bottom of the page that will do the same.
as others here - have used them before and would never do it again. forget about there 99.9% uptime guarantee, their servers are down all the time. also keep in mind that they deduct $20 for domain name registration if you ever want your money back (any time money back guarantee they call that).
stay away from them unless you don't care if it is useless :-)

one more thing: the $75 vouchers can only be used on us based accounts (ip check)

I signed up to ozbargain just to comment on this post and if I could I would give a -ve vote. I agree with Oscar they justhost just suck. I have been with them for almost a year, the last straw was when the email address I used to sign up with them (and ONLY them) got released (or sold) to spammers. Also they are very strict with file size, you can't have big files and you can't have lots of small files. If you are hosting anything with them for Australia then forget it! The servers little bandwidth and are oversold. The server I was on was shared with over 3500 other accounts.

    DON'T DO IT!

  • I've used this company, but I don't trust them! They do not offer hosting in Australia. Just googled their Australian contact address and it is also the address of aplusmedia.com IT solutions as well… -ve
