Best Hot Chips Seasoning

We were out at the SCG the other day and one of the food stalls there had the most amazing seasoning on their chips, not sure what was in it but it was red in color and the spices just melted in your mouth.

Does anyone have tips on their favorite homemade or store bought chip seasonings?

I've been debating whether to try sprinkling some of those masterfood seasonings on my hot chips…

    was it cajun seasoning?

    1 teaspoon black pepper
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon sugar
    1 teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (this stuff is hot! don't add too much)
    ½ teaspoon paprika
    dash of turmeric
    onion powder

coat your potatoes or chips in it and it'll be godly.

    • Oooh that sounds good, maybe I'll give this a shot. Thanks

Unfortunately, most will come with the dreaded E621 (MSG), seasoning that's found everywhere, potato chips snack, shapes, etc.

There is nothing wrong with MSG, unless you are one of those people that has an intolerance to it

      • Not many people have an intolerance to glutamic acid or its ions. Mainly because it is an amino acid so is found in virtually all foods, especially stuff high in protein.
But chemicals and numbers are scary, even if Food standards Australian New Sealand states there is no convincing evidence it is harmful.

Fun fact the basic taste umami is msg

  • Nandos Peri-peri salt for me. The day they sold the take-home shakers was a very good day indeed.

  • Table Salt

  • gravy

  • Turns out there's this masterfoods all purpose seasoning that works really well
