Hyundai Accent 2012 - Need to Buy a Jack Kit

Hello Guys,

I bought a used car recently and it has the spare tyre.
However, it did not come with a scissor jack and the rest of the bits needed there with(wheel brace?).

I know SCA sells one for 50 dollars.
But, I was wondering if I should go for a genuine hyundai part? Also where can I buy one?
Ebay sellers I found do not ship to Australia.
Or any other suggestions are welcome as well.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
AJ

  • Ring around some wreckers. They aren't always that cheap though.

Are you 100% sure it's missing the scissor jack? I have an older accent and it's secured just next to the spare. You have to 'unwind' it to get it out.

    • Ohh, I did check when I bought the car.
      Will double check though.

      Thanks for your response.

  • +1

Have you got roadside assist? Will you be travelling far from home?

If it was my car, travelling not too far from home I'm not sure I'd bother. Haven't had a flat that required immediate change of tyre for years. I've had a few slow leaks that you could get away with topping up until home or at the tyre joint. However I do have a compressor and trolley jack at home that I can change a tyre with if I get up in the morning to find a flat tyre. If taking it on a long trip I would borrow the jack from our other car, or chuck the trolley jack in.

Murphy's Law would probably kick in though if I didn't have a jack in the car.

  • Wouldn't it need a jack to pass roadworthy?

EDIT: Turns out you don't need a jack (or a spare tire… at least in Vic)
