We dont own any pets, but I am curious as to how much everyone pays for them.
To make things simple, if you can provide the cost per year, just ballpark is fine.
Many thanks!

My 2 kittens just on one year old, in their first year have cost me approximately -
$7 p/wk wet food
$3 p/wk dry food
$6 p/wk litter
$120 - worms and fleas
$600 - shots
$600 - spaying
$20 - bowls and litter trays
$120 - cat toys
Total for the first year for two cats: $2292
Total for the first year for one cat: $1146
Finde - what happens to your Mackaw when you go away? I hope you have family & friends around to care for him/ her when you're not there. However, eventually because of the lifespan - the beautiful bird will still be there , but you may not.
2 rabbits.
Hay: $120 a year
Pellets: $120 a year
Fruit and Veg: Next to nothing
Repair of everything nice they have destroyed: $Priceless
Envy! Qld doesn't allow rabbits. Strange.
3 Chickens and food cost is offset by not buying eggs. Can be fed scraps as well.
Though i don't have pet right now, but i will buy clothes and shoes every month.
Sounds like you don't mind the cost. What happens when ypu get bored?
