Any current deal / bargain / cashback / code for switching Private Health Insurance?

I am with Bupa ( Budget Hospital with $500 Excess and Bronze Extras - Family Cover) and currently paying $182.30 per month.
Got their letter saying from 1 April 2016, premium will increase to $201.25 per month. So looking to switch and see if I get same/similar beinfits elsewhere at less price, trying to save on $ for service which we hardly use.

Looked at web quote from Frank where it gave me "Basic Hospital" Plus "Some Extras @ 80% Benefits" for $194.40 ( not much difference than Bupa though)

But if there is any current deal / bargain / cashback / code for switching Private Health Insurance please share.

But I just want to know if I can sign up and cancel after the first free month to collect the flybuys points.

      Nopes.
      — membership must be current for 6 months before flybuys will credit bonus points

  • I'm with Frank and can highly recommend them. Love getting 80% back on extras, it makes going for a massage so much more appealing when you know its only going to cost you $16 out of pocket. And I no longer put off going to the dentist because I know they'll cover 80% of the bill.

I have a referral code you could use if you want. If you use it I get $100, but I'm happy to split it with you.

    • I m another happy customer from Frank, though i have never claimed anything as yet. Their premium was $183 and now its going to be $194. So Frank also increases price every year similar to other companies.

If you don't end up switching, you can pay your health insurance for up to 14 months in advance at the current rate to lock it in. In your case it would be $2552.20 for 14 months (just remember to cancel any direct debits - I had to contact Bupa support for them to do that). You'll save yourself from the 9.5% increase that way.

I'm with HIF and they are great, there is currently a code to get a $50 gift card too, when I go to the dentist and it's $200 I only end up paying $15-$20, they are great !

  • I'm with Frank and find their annual limits a bit low.
