Dick Smiths been around for a while and I would gather that their database would have customer information that would not be attached to an email address. Has anyone heard how a person can have their personal information removed that's not attached to an email before the sale.
I went and changed ALL my details to generic nonsense (matching DS marketing campaigns) as there was no way to delete my record not did I get the promised opt out email.

No organisation in the world would require your name and email address, to take your name amd email address off their lists.

The way it's presented is weird, I totally agree. But it seems to be the only way to get yourself unKoganed. Why they need your name is indeed strange. Data matching?
That opt out link is only if you have an email address attached to the data. What happens if your personal information has no email as per original question?

I received the email too, haven't shopped online with them before but I just gave them my email to receive a digital version of my receipt. The form is loading really slow though :(
I'm already on Kogan's database so sucks to them. And to me for buying Kogan Krap.
I don't remember ever giving DSE my name, address or phone number anywhere outside of their website. I've never been asked for it in store.
What exactly makes you think they would have your details?
