Ladder for Domestic Use

So am looking for a ladder and there are way too many out there. Only need to get to one story equivalent on top of the granny flat to clean out the gutters. Looking for thoughts and recommendations? Rather not be a static by falling off ;)

  • Little Giant Ladder.

    • Expensive?

      • I think I paid around $240 at Costco. You never want to cheap out on a ladder.

Bought this one only a few days ago:

Chinese seller, but the ladders are shipped from Sydney. I am happy with it, perfect for domestic use. Sufficiently strong build, flexible configuration, not to heavy to move. If you think about cleaning the gutters check what max. length you need - the one above is max. 4.7m, shorter are usually cheaper.

I do not trust this style, some reviewers apparently had various failures:

Haha, they seem to be doing it in reverse.

  • check out bunnings website.
Key is to verify the weight is suitable.
Many ladders only go up to 120Kg, many Aussies go a couple of steps further :P

  • what is wrong with milk crates? If you get enough you can make stairs.

    • This. And when don't need a ladder you can store your vinyl in them.

I'd go with a multifold ladder

But as mentioned above, you need to check to see if the weigh limit is an issue.

Aluminium is normally cheaper and lighter than fibreglass but fibreglass is used by sparkles because it's much less conductive.

When you choose one, look at the feet, make sure their sturdy, preferably with rubber caps and they look nice and flat.

Also look at the steps, make sure they look nice and comfortable to rest your feet on, very thin steps can turn out to be painful after a while of usage. Wider steps are more comfortable if you're working for a long period of time.

Other things like a tray on the upper rungs, brush holders of can holders can come in real handy for other times when you're not cleaning gutters.

The multi fold ladders are very handy, I've got one, but a couple of issues, firstly they're quite heavy, they can be a wrangle to extend and place vertically and they can sometimes trap skin when going up and down. They're extremely handy to own, especially on uneven surfaces though and in that instance (IMO) are worth their weight in chicken poop. I had to fix a gutter on a slope which would have been a real PITB but enter multi use and its sweet..
