Hi Ozbargainers! Very aware this is a last generation console but I regretted selling mine so picked another one up. Seems a great deal for a new console.

  • borderlands 2 without the DLC …that'd only be a few bucks these days
and i'd be surprised if you can still be forza horizon new given it's got it's follow up out now.

for the price it's alright but the games that come with it are so old it's not even funny. at least have the GOTY edition borderlands 2 or something. seems like cheap out.

Oh you want new XBOX 360 games?

      • +1

well newer than 3 years old yes. plenty of options. like i said both of those games have sequels with a bucket ton of DLC on them as well.

        • exactly.

  • controller? sorry ive never owned a console…I presume it comes with one..or two? in store at all?

    • +2

Since it's a new console, it'd be all boxed up and would come with one controller :)

    • +1

Comes with one controller :) I think it's only instore in Maryborough, QLD. Else will need to buy online

      • How much is shipping though, that may be enough to kill the deal. :(

        • +1

cost me $8, but it may vary depending on where you live. I'm annoyed I didn't realise the free shipping deal ended yesterday.

        • +5

@Emma11: I've done this three times at my local EB. What you do is go instore and make an order and it gets delivered to your home address for free.

They called it 'instore delivery' or something like that but all you have to do is ask them to order it on your behalf and if it can be ordered from HQ then it gets sent to you for free. Best of all, at the time of purchase they ask for your email which means you still rack up the EB World points.

I Did it with COD Ghosts Prestige Edition (a medium sized box) along with 2 DJ Hero 2's including the turntable in two different transactions. Saving me $~30 all up.

        • oh awesome! This is great info to know for next time, thanks heaps.

  • +1

Not a bad deal considering when my 360 died I paid $99 for a second hand one at EB. If they would give BF1943 Backwards compatibility on the XCB1 I would have no need to keep the 360 running

  • so is this new or old?

    • The console itself is brand new in box, I only mentioned it was an old console in the sense that it's last generation, as the Xbox one has been out for a while.

      • oh right so the xbox 360 is new. ok thank you.

  • would this be a good fit for a 7 and 5 year old ? wouldnt use borderlands but thinking of getting very kid friendly games

    • my 8yo uses a couple of cheap dance games and a kinect animals game I found in a bargain bin at EB

    • +1

a wii would be better for a 7 and 5 year old. more active, cuter games, and games and console cheaper.

      • True, my kids do use the Wii U more. Though neither spend a lot of time "gaming"

    • I would say yes - my 5 year old loves playing the 360. Minecraft, Lego, etc.

Not bad for the adults as well.

    • Any of the consoles will have plenty of kid friendly titles. Lego, Infinity, Minecraft, Skylanders among others are all good child friendly franchises.

The Wii is also a good choice as noted above. Almost anything by Nintendo will be a great choice, and you'll get many of those other franchises I already mentioned too. I'm sure the kids would love Mario Party and Mario Kart in particular.

With either of those or a PS3 you'll probably have no trouble getting a stash of games for under $10 each.

      • acutally have a wii, but don't really like the controllers for them , but just looked on ebay and can get normally controllers ( old style ) for $25 for 2. was thinking of getting them.
would that work for mario kart?

        • For Mario Kart I believe the pro controller works, classic may as well. Mario Kart supports quite a wide range of controller…just keep in mind that's not the case for all titles.

  • +3

Considering they only just had a deal a couple of months ago for second hand ones for $128 (with NO games and possibly a dodgy controller), this is an excellent bargain. There are still a hundred times more games for 360, plus it's one of the best DVD players with WiFi and streaming apps available.

    • doesn't the ps3 have better movie player cos it does Blu-ray as well? it's around the same price too.

      • PS3 has BD but the interface is annoying IMHO. But if you want a media device and games console, the BD feature may be irrelevant if it costs twice the price.

  • Either the search store function isn't working or it is out of stock already.

    Oh well…..

      gone

  • you could get some really good deals on gumtree, since lot of people upgrade to xb1.
