Buying a car with VIN stickers missing

Hi wondering if someone could help. Im looking at purchasing a car from a small backstreet dealer. The car is registered with vic roads and the VIN stamped in the chassis matches the online VIN number/ details of the car. However there is no stickers in the doorframe showing the VIN number and I could not locate the engine number in the bay (i believe it is hidden under plastic covers that are in the engine bay).

I feel that the stamp is the main VIN go-to location there is also the visible one in the windscreen that matches. Am I being overcautios withbthis or is it a concern? Just seems funny that othercars pf the same year and model have stickers there, some have 3 stickers.

Should have a compliance plate. If it's not where it should be, it's not worth the hassle.

prob had a side impact crash and the vin plates were mangled and never riveted /stuck back on.
    walk away.

But if you absolutely want it, get it checked out by NRMA
