  • Session was under $200 at Harvey Norman a few weeks back.

    • $203, I know, I checked the tags ;)
      But that's not now :)

    • From memory that was a pricing error and not too many scored one before it was revoked.

      • $183 I got one for :-)

        • Lucky lad! Now you have one, is it worth $230 or only $183?

          @Sven Nijs:

          I don't own one, but looking at the specs, I'd say the Hero3+ Silver looks worth the extra :) deeper depth, more MP etc

          @Sven Nijs:
          I got it for sticking on my helmet so to me size was the first consideration. Didn't want to look like a knob with a big thing sticking out of the top of my head :-)

    I am torn with these things. I have some Liquid Image goggles for skiing with a camera inbuilt but although I have recorded hours of skiing all over the world, nobody including me is interested in ever watching it. What do people do with these things. I wonder about putting one on my bicycle to record rides but seriously, who would ever be interested in watching that. No criticism to those that do, all props to you I just wonder if I would get the use out of one, I am a keen skier and road cyclist, occasional mountainbiker. Not sure I would get the use but interested in how others use them to try and convince myself.

    • You're right - hours of downhill snow footage is boring. More interesting mounting positions is on a ski/snowboard, facing downwards but I like clips the best when taken from it mounted on a stick in front or behind. No camera gitter from vibrations as well.

    • I used my GoPro to film parts of my last (non-skiing) Japan trip. The light weight means the gimbal I used can be light too, which makes it much easier to carry around compared to a gimbal for a full-sized camera.

      The video quality certainly isn't as good as a camera with a larger sensor, plus there's no manual control, but I think it worked great in that situation.

      Now I'm considering getting the Session as a bike crash camera. The single-button auto-record and auto-sleep operation makes it quicker to use than a normal GoPro, I think.
