I was looking to buy cheap vitamins on ebay.
Nothing was on special in store so decided to take a look on Ebay. I saw a listing for some well priced Swisse Ultivites @ around a few dollars cheap than what they would be if they were half price. I decided to purchase them however I did notice the listing oddly had something along the lines of, 'I'm happy to send them first and pay later for a consumer guarantee'
This didn't bother me as I know that paypal will cover me if need be.
So I paid for it right away and then paypal refunds me straight after.
I then received a message from the seller saying that he is having trouble with his paypal account but he is happy to send them to me via Australia Post then me pay via bank deposit when I receive.
I'm aware that any seller that tells you they are having trouble with the bank account means there is a good chance something dodgy is going on.
So I ask what is their angle? Do they buy vitamins with stolen CCs. Or do they steal them from the store as they they would be pretty easy to place in your pockets and just walk out without being caught? Or is it just an honest seller that does have a problem with their paypal account. (I know unlikely)
Should I just say send away and then pay or even not pay as the guy is dodgy? Or just stay away and report the practice to ebay and wait until my vitamins are half price in a reputable store?
PS. I don't want a conversation about whether vitamins are useful or useless just want feedback on the story in general.
Thanks.
as far as i know paypal will not refund/reject payment automatically, so the seller must have manually go into their paypal and reject/return your money.
why? i dont know. maybe simply to avoid paypal charges? but actually its pretty small compare with ebay fees.
so, i dont know.. but will not continue to buy in this situation.
