G'day my fellow lil furballs
Some time ago I bought a 48" Soniq El Cheapo brand TV from Tricky Dicky's. Anyway the ports on it have had some issues, eg, one of the three HDMI ports is always snowy so basically cannot be used - but that's no big deal cos there's two others.
Anyway it worked fine for a couple of years aside from that, but now the optical digital audio out port is cutting the sound out constantly and is unusable. Also, can you believe this TV only has ONE audio out port of any sort ! And this is the one, there's no analog or any other way that I can think of to get the audio out of the TV.
So my Q is, given that OzB is a tech savvy mob, is there any way to get the sound for TV into my soundbar other than buying a set top box or something?
It's not a prob for movies cos I can use other ports from the PC etc for that, but with the TV sound i can't think of anything.
