Trying to get my parents internet back up after purchasing a new PC with Windows 10. Long story short they need a new modem.
Have found a bundle that works for them via Telstra that comes with a Telstra T Gateway modem.
Only problem is that the modem looks like to needs to be connected to the phone line and the modem with sit on the kitchen bench.
This is the problem, my parents don't want it there as it too big and the wrong colour for the kitchen. They are 85 and 78 and just don't do change plus I think my Mum just likes to whinge!
There is an active phone line in the office (it doesn't have a phone connected to it) where the computer is which would be the best place to have it BUT
What I don't know and Telstra cant tell me is
Can the modem be connected to the active phone line in the office that doesn't have an actual phone or any other suggestions for a work around.
Thanks in advance
Yes the modem be connected to the active phone line in the office that doesn't have an actual phone.
Your phone is mostly irrelevant to the model except use the adsl filter/splitter provided where appropriate so the phones don't interfere with your signal.
