I did a little research and found that you can possible get a very cheap remedial massage using the 15% off Groupon Code and Double Dipping with your Private Health Insurance rebate which would make it free for some health funds such as AHM. Just make sure you ask for an invoice after the massage.

Hi CandyMan, GreatWhiteHunter is asking if the massage includes an assisted ejaculation at the end of the massage. Hope that helps.

        • +2

Can't be more clear than that!

As usual, GAP payment is expected from provider/PHI. $30 HJ, $50 nude+HJ.

    • How about suki suki?

  • Varsity Lakes is not Brisbane

  • Is this actually going to work with hicaps? Or do you need to beg for a receipt?

    • +1

just ask for receipt and claim via a form. I do it all the time

      • i tend to go to my local westfields and pay the $3 out of pocket for 30 mins.

        • Sounds good. Which phi do you use and how much premium per month do you have to pay?

        • +1

          @eisniwre:

AHM. Super Extra's. $33 per fortnight. I claim over $2k per year which i would usually do anyways.
Next year getting Lasik done which will cost me ~ $500 out of pocket.

        • @easternculture:

Teachers. Premium for the family are $127.50 (from april) per fortnight for the family (4 people). Probably can get something cheaper elsewhere, but they cover a LOT.

        • @easternculture: I can only see one on ahm that is 15.85 per week ($32 per fortnight) with the gov rebate. It only includes chiro, osteo and physio plus dental to a combined max $550 claims per year. What policy exactly do you have? cheers

        • @chocfrogs456:

here is all the inclusions https://ahm.com.au/api/downloads/products/super-extras.pdf

          • My dentist doesnt charge me any excess so i save ~ $200 - $250 per visit. = $500 per year
          • I wear contacts so that's $250 per year
          • I claim the health promotion $250 on Cancer council products i.e. clothing
          • I claim the $200 orthotics on orthotic shoes. My orthotist writes whatever i want on the invoice.
          • I claim the $400 on remedial massage with no out of pocket
          • I claimed the $900 orthodontics

          That's a total of $2500 claimed and im paying ~ $858 per year :)

Next year doing my Lasik (plus claiming the above again). There is a Dr in Newtown which apparently is mentioned very frequently whirlpool that does both eyes for $2300 - $2500.

        • @easternculture: oh i see. that doesnt include hospital. that is only for extras. then you have to add hospital for min. 15 per week (30 per fortnight) which means you are paying 63 per fortnight total. wowsas!

          @chocfrogs456:

I bounce around with my hospital cover and get the PHI bonuses. Up till now have got ~ $600 in bonuses and waiting for my $300 eftpos card from iSelect before i bounce back to medicare when they bring back the 20000 flybuys + adidas or fitbit offer.

My hospital cover is ~ $700 per year but its better than paying $1200 extra in tax per year.

End of the day im gaining more than im paying so no complaints here plus getting my credit card points

        • @easternculture: You sound very smart. Its time to review my cover now after BUPA is increasing 10% premium. I might try to switch after remaining loyal to BUPA for all these years.

        • Yikes! Which massage place in a Westfields has these rates? My gap is always at least $30ish at those places. :(

      • +1

which provider that you ask for the receipt?

  • Sydney second link, the fine print clearly says not valid for health fund rebate..

    • Just ask for receipt which your legally entitled to. Say its for tax purposes.

      • Nor does it say under link that it is health fund rebate…

        • if you follow my instructions, you'll get the rebate

        • Without taking the health fund rebate into account, especially as some say they won't allow it, may as well link to every deal on Groupon and say it's a deal @ 15% off…

  • +1

Besides a receipt, won't you also need the massage therapist to put their provider number down so you can claim it? At least that's what the medibank private online claiming system needs..

    • +2

with ahm, you type the name and it comes up automatically. not sure about others

      • I've always dreamed of double-dipping like this! I've never tried to ask for the receipt though. And sometimes, I received tax receipts in the name of the business - but their health fund rego would be under something else, like the owner's name or specific massage therapist's name etc.

Can you share any massage places in Syd that have a high PHI rebate? I've found that as soon as I mention PHI, the price jumps $30-$40 so my gap ends up being 50$ or so. Almost the same as just paying their non-PHI full price arrgh!
