Correct. Typing too fast here :-/

    • I just received my Matrix 2 today. Charging it at the moment.

Ordered for USD 88.12 (w/ shipping) from Amazon on 28/02.

      • Let me know what you think of them. Dunno if I should get overear or in ear.. worried might look odd on public transport with overear :P

        • It is fantastic!

  • Powerbeats 2 any day of the week.

I'd like to use this for cycling but am cautious about blocking out ALL sound while cycling. Anyone have experience with these? Do they completely block sound? How well do they work with wind in your face?

    • Please, please don't wear headphones while riding!

They're as good as any other in-ear headphones at blocking out outside sound. Just they don't come out as easily.

      • Ah you're probably right.. nevermind then. The commute's gotten a little dull. I ride 90% on paths =/

        • I wear them when commuting all the time - love 'em. I always have one ear out when on the road or in a group.

Great for reducing wind noise but they are very isolating, you will hear some stuff but it's all quite dull (like ear muffs).

        • Bockshtek. Wear headphones while cycling. I've done it for the past 6 months (over 5,000 KM). Here's the thing, whenever I'm not wearing headphones, 1 of 2 things happen.

1- The wind blocks out all noise anyway so I can't hear cars coming

2- If the wind isn't an issue, most cars can only be heard when they are really close (Doppler Effect) . At the speed they travel, that's too close for me to do anything about them.

So as you can see, you may as well wear headphones. Just do your best to keep safe, not get in the way of motorists and signalling whenever you need to.

        • I have a Jabra stealth in one ear for most of the time when I am riding. In the city even, I have done about 1800kms on my ebike over the past 12 months and nothing dangerous about having it in your left ear only. I mostly listen to podcasts and audiobooks.

It just doesn't have enough controls on the stealth. I am looking at the Bragi Dash when I save up enough.

    • Bone conduction earphones?

Aftershokz Bluez 2S Review by NCIX

As to where to get them cheaply… I'm not too sure :P

      • I considered them once, and read lots of reviews.. sound leakage is pretty bad apparently - even the Aftershokz. I'm very conscious about that.

        • Sound leaking and not shutting out all the noises from the outside usually go together. It'd be hard to find an earphone that does one but not the other.

I've seen some bluetooth device that listens in to surroundings and plays those sounds when they go over certain decibel, though that didn't sound useful since the decibel level did sound tad bit too arbitrary.

I wear X's while riding. You will only hear about 10% of what you normally do.

You will not hear car engines, or brake sounds etc.

Thank fully you also will not hear 99% of the inane crap other people will say to you as you ride.

If you ride mostly bike paths you should be fine, just head check more often.

These are, frankly, bloody awesome wireless headphones. Definitely recommend.

  • Listening with a pair of X2s right now. I like it, but I'm no audiophile. I use the gel caps and can hear outside noises if I didn't turn the sound up. They include another set of foam plugs where you compress and let them expand inside your ears. That type might block out more noise.

Have the original Bluebuds X and its still going strong after 2.5 years. With so many fitting options it would be very surprising if you don't manage to get a great fit. Also Complyfoam (http://www.complyfoam.com/) have replacement tips for the Bluebuds if you want to spend the extra.

Had a pair of these for running a while back. Might have just been my ears, but found it impossible to get a tight seal where they wouldn't fall out every 10 mins.

Ended up selling and getting the Plantronics Backbeat Fit which are much simpler to put in and stay in place no matter what. Also allow environmental sounds in so you can hear traffic etc.

    • +1 for the backbeat fit. Decent enough bass for the type of earphone they are, great for working out with but let in just enough outside sound. Cranked to the max, and you start to struggle to hear anything else.

Absolutely no issues with them falling out either.

  • These are great and super comfy once you set them up for your head. Just the Bluetooth range is a little lacking.

    • Maybe send yours back. I have never had an issue with the range on my set. When I first got them I made sure to test the range of Bluetooth and didn't skip a beat no matter where I was in a 3 BR double brick house. Phone was placed in the farthest corner of my house. Even through walls it still worked.

      • I should have clarified that it could be my Nexus 6P that has the issue considering it's an all metal phone with only two areas for the signal to pass through.

When I cover the top glass area, the signal is cut completely. So not sure if it's the headphone or the phone.

        • If it's your phone, would affect other headsets too.

        • @quarrymaster:

Not tried with other headsets other than a UE Boom and come to think of it, it isn't great.

          Should've bought a 5X

  • Yeah mine took ages to get fitting right, mine now sit upside down but they are magic, bass and sound is beaut!

  • Been through a few pairs of Bluetooth headphones, 2 Jaybird x's (lost my first pair), Powerbeats 2 & Paltronics backbeat 2.

Jaybirds have been my favorite out of the bunch, got my first pair about 2 years ago absolutely loved everything about them, I changed to the biggest fittings out of the box and didn't need to even use the wingtips for them to stay in my ears… then I lost them.
The powerbeats were good but didn't isolate outside sound as much as the jaybirds & I didn't like the ear hooks on them.
Backbeat 2s were doa, looked up the issue and it was kinda common to get them not working out of the box, went back with Jaybirds & I'm glad I did.

  • Love my Jaybird X2. The best bluetooth headphones out and I've tried a few.

    Price goes up to $131.02 USD ($122.36 + $8.66 delivery) now :(

  • The Sony MDR-AS600BT phones are 118 odd (30% off) at DSE during their closing down sale, enjoying mine so far for riding. 4 sets of tips included + 3 sizes of in ear "wings" so fit shouldn't be a problem. Great sound and excellent isolation.

  • Does anyone know any stores in Sydney that sell these (for warranty purposes)?

    • Tries The Co-Op

    • +1

Bought our's via ebay (hong kong seller), warranty though we dealt direct with jaybird (check their website). Not sure if they have international warranty but their customer service was great imho

      • How much did you pay? Do you have a link?

    • Besides the coop, anyone else know of a local stockist in Sydney, preferably in the CBD.

  • Price has risen to over $140 us…

  • I like running very much. I search a headphone for doing exercise. Is it suitable for runner?

  • active again.

  • Price drops to $114.63 USD.

  • This item not available for international shipment

How do u guys get shipment to Australia?

    • Choose Amazon as the seller in the right hand column.

  • Is it safe to purchase from other sellers on Amazon?
I am assuming its a bit like ebay where other sellers are using Amazons market place to sell the same products.
I just got it from this seller delivered for AUD 145.09.

    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B013HSW4SM?m=A1467K3Q60M3PB&ref_=v_…

I am now worried that at this price it could be fake.

I never ordered anything through Amazon before let alone a reseller.

It also worries me that the seller ships from Venezuela.
