Ask around family/friends, typically that's something people just throw out when upgrading to Blu-ray

    • What type of bluray do you have?

  • bonus beg

From what ive seen, its best to beg in high traffic areas such as train stations shopping malls etc in order to maximise your chances of finding charitable people

Given that you are begging for technology, id try your luck outside a tech store in a large mall such as DSE, Jb hifi or even harvey norman or good guys

  • If you wanted to do it yourself:

And use a VHS/DVD recorder (I picked on up for bugger all ($60, I think) from a Radio Rentals ex-Rental, does a pretty good job of converting old vhs tapes… just takes a little time…

  • A few years ago I copied some VHS to DVD. Back then AFAIK there was no way to do it quicker than 1:1 (ie 1hr takes 1hr). I tried using VHS player to digital camcorder to PC, worked OK, but a bit fiddly and time consuming. Then I found out we had a VHS/DVD recorder combo at work in a meeting room. much easier. Set it up and running first thing in the morning, go back and collect tape and newly burnt disc later.
