G'day All,
My first trip to South Melbourne market is on Friday! What are the good stores to grab a bargain?
Would love your thoughts on which business has the cheapest meat and the cheapest produce. (or even which shop provides QUALITY products)

thanks for your reply! been there and done that :P
I've heard that South Melb is much smaller :(
Yes, its much smaller compared to Vic Market. I find South Melb Market has better quality stuff to offer but at the same time, slightly dearer too. Go try the "ever popular" dim sims (which I find it meh…). The grill octopus is yum! Fruit and meat stalls are good too, looks fresher than Vic Market imo.

The Port Phillip Mussel Festival is on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th midday til late.
Based at South Melbourne Market - it's very good food and music.

Also I recommend Padre coffee at the market.

Are you a local or visitor to Melbourne as the light rail Sth Melbourne to Middle Park and then walk to the beach is another good activity.
Be sure to visit Agathé Patisserie for a croissant or pastry
I usually get some Pho from the vietnamese place in the food court, a massage from William and then a coffee at Clement
