Wow.. So lucky I have sold my free vr gear from s6 edge deal!

higher than this crazy cheap price..

    • Is the gear vr any good?

I was thinking it might be good for watching tv shows away from the telly, like outside on the balcony in the sun :p

Has anyone got the UF680T? Tossing up between the 49 inch LG and the 55 inch Sony W800C

    • I heard the w800c have some brightness issue that the auto dim feature is constantly on. My brother got one and refunded it from the previous $1500 deal.

I bought it two weeks ago for $995, not very happy at it dropping $200 :( send them a 30-day claim but I bet they will try to weasel out claiming eBay doesn't count even tho they are the vendor. Nice television, only two HDMI ports, no native Plex app (however DNLA works nice, and there are some paid 3rd party apps available). Blacks could go a little dark and screen is a little glarry but nice still

      • Much motion blur? Watching sport will be a priority… 4K doesn't seem worth it on a 49 inch TV but helps future proof it I guess - and can't argue with these prices

      • Same here. Wondering if it's valid since it's eBay.

    • I really like the LG. I also have a Sony 65W850B (not the same as the C I know) and the LG is a better TV except for one thing, the 850B has better backlighting for bright rooms (the C is edge lit I think so not true for that model). The backlighting on the LG is ok, but it's marginal in the daytime with side lit rooms.

The LG connectivity for multi-media streaming is exemplary, I don't even use the Chromecast anymore as the LG does it better, and the remote very nice to use. Picture took some tweaking, as did the Sony, both were shit out of the box. The LG menu system totally craps on the slow clunky Sony.

The nice thing about LG 100Hz is that it's got a better tradeoff between soap opera effect and judder, the Sony requires switching modes, which is clunky at best, between sports and movies, whereas the LG you can set it up so both look good, but the optimal modes in both just seem easier to switch between on the LG.

I'm still yet to try the 4:4:4 on the LG but it's nice that it's got it.

  • I take the vr kit is no good for s5?

    • +1

      nope

  • Can Hisense TV be used as a monitor(basic computing)?

    • Probably not as the cheap brand don't have 4:4:4 chroma subsampling and it will look like a blurry mess.

      • -1

        mine works perfectly fine.

        HiSense isn't a 'cheap brand'

in comparison, Australians think Sharp is a crap cheap brand yet in America and all over the world it's highly praised

        • +1

Hisense is a cheap brand. The only good brands are Sony, Samsung, LG and Panasonic. Everything else is a cheapo and the picture quality/features reflect that.

        • @Yuri Lowell:

Um, so what about that German company Zeiss that makes the cinemizer? Are you going to call them cheap too?

        • @Yuri Lowell:

Almost.. LG is also a cheap nasty brand.

        • Sharp used to be a good brand. But now, like JVC, Sansui, Hitachi, etc they are rebranded chinese cheapies.

  • The Galaxy VR is $119 @ DSE

    • Can't see it on their website?

      • I've seen it instore. $149 less 20%.

        • +1

Yeah, to add to what you said, two stores I've been to both had a few.
Only reason I was not buying them was we'd probably see an influx of Gear VRs coming out to gumtree from Galaxy S7 event.

    • I'd like to know too.

kilometres of the store from where the personal good was
purchased, and the price difference is greater than A$75

I bought it from JB Hi FI in Ballarat, There's a good guys a few doors up.
Anyone successfully have the difference reimbursed with ebay sales.

      • Good luck with that. You have no catalogue to proof

        • ^this, you need a printed catalogue.

    • Compensation from who? It's PayPal who is offering this extra discount.

  • Bought the Sony 55 last week for my mother. Paid $1095 from JB. Great price now.

  • Jesus they're some good prices.

    • Yep, sold out in ACT now

  • Any larger UHD tv's anyone might recommend? That price is crazy though

  • What are some good games for the Gear VR?

    • Flappy Bird

  • I purchased the sony 55 on the weekend from JB at $1096.. Has anyone else that purchased tried to get the difference?
Anybody that bought this from good guys have a receipt stating $876 or does it still have the $1095?

    • Receipt states $1095 not $876, happy to share if you still need it though.

  • Why couldn't the Note 4 version have sold at that price :(

  • Siiiigh pretty bummed I bought the Sony a week ago. The Good Guys official statement for eBay price guarantee for anyone else curious:

    • so that means no hope… i too bought it 2 weeks ago from Good guys… n now its available for $876

      • +1

It is available for $1,095, eBay are giving discount not good guys

    • And they call themself “The Good Guys”…

  • Seems they have up'd the prices on these items

  • I bought the KDL55W800C through this sale with an expected delivery date of 15/03/2016. I received a call from the Good Guys saying there's a national shortage - No Good Guys in NSW have any in stock and neither does Sony/their supplier. I have to wait until April for the shipping container to arrive in the country.

It looks as though they started this sale without the capability of being able to fulfil the order. Not happy. I'm getting some Blurays thrown in as compensation.

    • I'm in the same boat. Have you received yours yet? I was initially told it would be 2 weeks, but I spoke to the store on Tuesday and they couldn't even give me a rough ETA
