[CLOSED] Car Battery Perth

After leaving the car for a few minutes, turned the engine on and all dash lights were on but did not start. After two tries, it eventually started with some engine rattles. Could be the 6-year old battery may need replacing. Please share where you buy your car battery. Quick look at RAC battery - $164 delivered. Cheers

    I got my last couple from Autopro Bentley - they install for free.

    Repco sold me a home brand battery the guy stated was made by century for around $140 (for a Prado).
    It is trivial to install yourself so don't let that influence you. Kmart used to be the cheapest for standard batteries, but it is years since i made that comparison ( I don't have a Kmart nearby anymore).
    My rule of thumb is RAC or Marshall of whoever build about $50 into the price to deliver the battery.

    RAC, decent price, they test the old to see if you need one first.
    Thats what we dd when my wife was broken down, nice and easy and I thought a good price for a good warranty.

    From what you said, could instead be a fuel block problem, or corroded battery connector. I guess the engine turned very slowly but you didn't say.
    You can get batteries from anywhere. Supercheap, ebay, on Gumtree, Repco, Kmart, autowreckers (~$40).

          Good thing I checked. Coolant reservoir empty, bone-dry. Off to Autobarn to buy 5L coolant for $8. Filled it, because don't have the tools and know how to drain.

    are you planning on keeping the car for 6 more years?

    keeping for up to 2 years - buy an el cheapo from supercheap

    from 2-6 years - get a good brand….a little more now, averaged out over many years, is definitely worth paying for

      I had an old Mercedes battery put into turd and it lasted 8 years.

    New battery installed but car still won't start. Starter motor issue perhaps.

    Is the engine turning over and not firing or not turning over at all ?
