    Can you define "cheap" please?

What prices did you get through BYO jet.

Do you have to be back on a certain date?

Do you need to be somewhere in particular on a certain date?

    • byo jet was pretending 1140 +- a bit on many dates…they never existed. Anything around that price I would jump on right now.

I remember last year I could AIR NZ there and back around this time for about 950 return.

Must be there by june 2, happy to be there as much as a week early. Any time after the 15th July should be good to return, thanks!

      • What $1140 From Perth to Las Vegas to London and Back to Perth??? That isn't possible.

I'm assuming $950 return was to LAX or LOS?

If another Air NZ sale comes up book return tickets to LAX or LOS then book a side trip to LHR with a extra day between getting back to LAS and flying back to Perth in case you are delayed.

Flights between Heathrow and the US are pretty cheap.

I believe Qantas also has a sale on at the moment - maybe worth looking at ?

Edit… I'm home now so I can actually look at proper websites…

        $1153 PER-LAS return @ IWTF.

        • no sorry, Just PER - LAS - PER

i will just do LAS-LON-LAS direct if there is no good RTW tickets at the moment

(and thanks for USA LON advice)

        • @GoogleFroogle: My apologies PER - LAS is $1460 return I had Melbourne in because I was looking earlier and looked at the wrong window.

Your best option will probably be a return flight to LAX, then catch a bus to Las Vegas.
To incorporate London you could fly Norwegian air from LAX to London fairly cheaply return.

    Hi mate,
I go the WSOP every year.
Yeah so you're best bet (lol) (well at least what I do) is keep an eye on skyscanner and get updates on flight price changes for the time I want to go.

We usually fly into LA and then take a car to vegas (about a 5 or 6 hour drive depending on traffic).

Do you play cash games or are you just there for tournaments or what is the aim of the trip?
I generally stay on the strip because I'm a cash game player, and I just catch a cab to the RIO if theres a tournament I'm playing. (the best cash games are on the strip IMO).

The cheapest strip hotels are probably circus circus (small 5-7 walk down the stip to the heart of the action). Or the west gate hotel which is a little off the strip but a 5-10 minute walk to the venetian/mirage/bellagio/caesars etc.

I usually stay in a few different hotels to mix it up, but I've only booked the first week of hotel so far (I'll be there for 3 weeks). I managed to get 7 nights at the Westgate hotel for $270 USD which is literally the best deal I've ever gotten considering it's including a Friday and Saturday night.

What events will you play or what cash games do you play?
The games are amazing and it's a hell of an experience if you love poker.
You won't believe how bad everyone is either. If it's your first time, I'm assuming you're going for the colossus event so remember that hotels will be mega booked- it's like the busiest weekend all year other than Labor day in LV.

    • Hey mate, thanks for the the WSOP info. I lived on-off in vegas for about 7 years, playing mostly cash games on the strip. I used to have killer harrahs (caesars/total rewards) status back in the day. but since being back in perth they don't give a s**t about me now :) I used to live on the strip for pretty much nothing. And did a project that lead to me living 3 months in the venetian (woohoo) :)

I will play a bit of PLO/Mix but mostly NLHE events. And NLHE cash games when I am bored. But I am going to try and hit at least 10 events this time!

I have been there for about 4 WSOP before but only played the juicy cash games at the time. Feel free to get in contact with me May/June we can compare some notes or catch up and say g'day if both at rio some time.

I'll let you know what options I take up.

    • btw: do you pick up a pre-paid mobile card there? I figured it might be best to get one at my LAX 5 hour stopover. just something cheap as i won't make calls, but a decent data plan and works in Rio is probably all i need.

      Cheers

  • BTW: I ended up getting ~$1300 on Qantas via Zuji for future reference.

Then I can gain points or use point to upgrade and also I have bought my ticket with cash on the rare chance I win and have to fill out a W2 / tax return.

Then my family will visit on points later in the series
