Bright 1080p screen and quite decent sound quality. Intel Celeron Dual-Core 3205U processor is fast enough for web browsing and full HD media playback. Battery life is claimed to be 9 hours but I get around 8 hours on medium screen brightness, mostly watching movies and browsing. Solid build quality but slightly on the heavier side. To me, worth the price for the screen and sound quality alone!

      Not sure why this was so heavily downvoted, I agree that Celeron chips are more trouble than they're worth. Still, a good deal on an IPS FHD screen.

        Don't let the Celeron naming fool you, this is a chip based on Broadwell series, and it outperforms the Celeron N2830 by a good 30 percent.

        The dual core does kind of hurt productivity, but given that all it needs to run is Chrome OS and not windows, it's more than enough.

        TDP is rated at a 15w however, while still a small power draw compared to regular Core i3 processors, it is two times more than the N2830.

          I've used one of the new Broadwells, but I still don't agree. But then, I don't use anything less than an i7 setup these days because of the type of work I do, so anything that feels less than "instant" tends to annoy me to no end.

          For the price bracket this machine falls under, it's reasonable, but if there's an option to pay a bit extra and get something closer to an i3, I would recommend it.

        • @revolutio:

          How would a chromebook utilize a i7??

          Peasant.

          I flat out refuse to use anything less than a Tianhe-2 for my web browsing and word processing!

          @StewBalls:

          Sigh. Is it that I write one comment, and people read a completely different comment? I never said a Chromebook needed an i7.

          I was simply trying to explain why the Celeron seems slow to me by comparison, not because I'm trying to measure my e-penis. I wish my work required less wallet intensive setups, but it's just a simple fact.

          I'll keep my comments to myself in future instead of trying to offer some meaningful advice to potential buyers, which is what I've normally found OzBargain is very handy for. People can take it or leave it, but stop looking between the lines for reasons to be outraged or suggestions I'm clearly not making.

  • My chromebook is sub 1080 so hoping in the futrure there are some better models

  • the screen on this one is average, the colours range is only 58%. So you miss out on true colours from being displayed. id rather wait for toshiba cb2 2015 to get cheap. that one displays 96% of the colour range and has an amazing glossy screen
