How much would this affect the price of the 390 do you think?
different company. Not much. lol
new amd cards coming in too
AMD are a dying breed statistically. Won't even find them in the top 10 IC manufacturers (by revenue). RIP AMD/ATI. There is hope though … they might get lucky again with a licensing deal for AMD64_x86 successor. Probably their only real shot at staying alive in the mid term. I put together a rig for a family member and stupidly gave the R9 380 a shot. Literally crashes for most games within 10 mins and by crash I mean black screen, no input signal and forced to hard reboot. I'll be sticking with NVIDIA for a while now. I hear the R9 390 is the same.
Dont they supply the GPU's for PS4 & XBONE??
Yes they do, they also made sizable advancements over Intel in processor technologies and now license out the processor instruction set to Intel. Their GPUs perhaps arent as refined as Nvidia's offerings however they do offer near equal performance -/+ 5%. I'd check if theres any driver issues for either AMD or NVIDIA for the type of games you're playing before choosing. Contrary to popular belief the new GPUS wouldn't pose much more than a 10-15% gain in real world Gaming performance.
Currently GTA5, Watchdogs, Hitman:Blood Money, L.A Noire … probably should have read into it before stupidly relying on statistics to substantiate the build. In ideal conditions I agree completely with you. I do, however, believe that NVIDIA and Intel are the tried and proven real world performers and oddly enough … this is a statistic too. AMD/ATI tend to win out on $/Performance but at the cost of "lab-like" performance.
Same argument about AMD was being made 15 or more years ago, somehow they survived. You may want to try fixing the drivers or having a look at the display settings or maybe you just have a dud card.
Yep. This is an old argument. Even at its best AMD were never in the top 10 for ICs.
I've been using AMD cards like forever and never had an issue.
May have a dud card but seems unlikely. They tend to go out in a binary fashion and even when they don't there are usually symptoms, of which this card displays none :(
I'd be sending it back, getting it replaced.
I have an AMD card running the latest Crimson drivers, and have no such issues with those games, although that's with an R9 290. If the monitor is losing signal from the card, that's not a sign of a badly designed card, it's a faulty card.
No mega deals on R9390
but I can do STRIX-R9390-DC3OC-8GD5-GAMING for $479 + shipping. I think next cheapest is about $493.30
If you want he deal just place an order via IJK website and send me the Order number in message.
I ended up just purchasing one from MSY, thanks anyway!
i got a 290x if you are interested?
Ended up getting a 390 from MSY, thanks for the offer though!
new nvidia cards coming out in a few months
