So… does it or does it not come with the basket at the front? @_@ The pictures show it does, but the text and ordering process implies it won't?

    • No it doesn't come with the basket, which is stated in the product description. It's there to show you what the bike complete with basket looks like - which is what most people prefer. If it's not for you, just grab the bike!

      • Actually $209.94 as advertised in picture.
        No deal.

        • +1

If you do add the basket kit and pay the total of $209 it's still the best priced vintage bike on the market. Add free delivery, free servicing for 1 year, a lifetime warranty on the frame + forks, and 2 years on parts - it's one crazy package!

@Clem11: shows wheels in the picture.
          Does it come with wheels?

        • @Clem11:

I was going to disagree with your first sentence, as Target sell a vintage style bike including basket for $179 (occasionally as low as $149) and Kmart have one for $169, but the later sentences do make it excellent value. :P

        • @kwchaz: There's a massive difference between buying from somewhere like Kmart/Target & a reputable bike brand/shop, including improved product quality, customer service/advice, after sales service & warranties. Each to their own, but certainly worth your consideration.

        • @Clem11:

You said 'best priced vintage bike', so if we're speaking only of price, then no this is not the best priced. However, as I noted already… the other additions do make it much more competitive.

        • @furiousgeorge: Just trying to keep you abreast of a solid deal mate. If you don't like it, you don't have to consider it.

        • @kwchaz: Apologies, I was referring to Vintage bike sold by bike stores. Department stores do have a few cheaper options - if you like their style and lack of customer care.

      • So do you have the baskets in stock ? 2 weeks ago, there were none. Also what are the differences between normal basket and premium basket apart from the $10 difference in price ?

        • Yes, the baskets are back in stock - just arrived! The difference, is that the Premium basket kit has a cane lid on the basket.

  • No basket. You need to buy it seperately

    It's not vintage. It's new. It's vintage-style.

    • +1

Correct mate, Vintage is a style of bike referred to in the cycling industry.

      • just call it pretentious and hipster

  • Any further discount for pick-up?

    • No - but if you pick up from a store it comes assembled. If you buy online it arrives 85% assembled, and requires you to finish the job.

  • Ladies love the vintage style bikes, no shockies for a rough ride.

    • These are actually really comfortable and smooth to ride. Of course on a rough track you'd feel it, but they're certainly not made for that.

I've said this before on previous posts but this reminds me of that vintage bike Elaine from Seinfeld bought while Jerry was trying to chat up that girl who wore the same black and white dress all the time.

If I just add the bike without the code I can see all 3 free items - lights, locks and pump. As soon as I add the code it removes the free items. Does that mean with the coupon code I won't get the free items?

    • Correct, the free items promo can't be used in conjunction with other offers. So it's one or the other I'm afraid.

Hi Rep! Any chance of a discount on the Vintage Ladies Plus or Royale? Looking for something with gears for the Mrs.

    • Not right now Ayanami, but you do currently get a Free Light Set, Lock and Pump worth $48 with every bike from REID - although this promo wont work in conjunction with other offers (i.e. the $169 deal).

So you could grab the Classic Plus @ $249 with Free Delivery & $48 worth of freebies.

      • Thanks mate but she's already set for those accessories; will have to wait for a sale of some sort I guess.

  • Thanks Clem11, will be bring the missus this weekend to your Glebe store. Is the watermelon colour available?

    • Hi Mantoh, have messaged you directly.

  • Would love to see a deal on the flat bar road bikes.
