There are a lots of option which you can go with batteries, draw back is you need to change batteries quite often.

ahh, cool, Aldi had battery operated one? Any link please?
There's one next Saturday (5th March), at least for NSW: https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-5-m…
It's got a motion sensor and 5 hour battery backup (for power outages), but it does need to plug into a standard bulb socket. You can kinda make out the details if you squint: https://www.aldi.com.au/fileadmin/fm-dam/Products/Special_Bu… or pick up a catalogue in a store.
No experience with any other lights mentioned, but they may be good.
This exact one in garage nook, and excellent. No doubt still on both eBay and Amazon if you look, but video came up in quick search.
I think bought for nicks from old Meritline OzBargain deal.
Instant initial response, well-judged preset delay and properly functional ambient-off. Light white and not bluish; batteries last about a year, even when light triggered a couple of times each night. All those things different with other less-good battery-powered lights tried.
Like other cheap China LED lights, same design may come out of different factories and be variable in quality, but likely a very cheap option for you to try.
Note to self: Maybe a colloquial *nix and not your anglicised nichts, you (profanity).
Edit: Wow, you can't even call yourself a d/ckhead, on OzBargain.
sounds like it might be easier to walk around with night vision goggles on - gezz they are only around $20 each, or 4 for $60
I'm finding it bit tricky to choose between these two, appreciate your feedback/comments which one is better.
2 x Auto PIR Infrared Sensor 4 LED Lights Wireless Keyhole Motion Detection
$21.24

$17.90
http://www.bunnings.com.au/magic-living-8-led-sensor-nightli…Maybe go with the pair from Bunnings. You can readily take them back if faulty or otherwise terrible. For what it's worth, those in the first link look very similar to one of the crappier ones I alluded to in comment above and which remain unused.
does your hallway get sunlight? If it does, you could possibly go with a solar powered one. If not, then you will need to stick with batteries, which can be a pain.
