Hi all,
I am an international student in Australia(under student siva), and now planning for a trip to Japan in April for 2 weeks. I am thinking about buying a travel insurance and checked several companies like Allianz and 1cover, but it seems they all have 'Resident of Australia' requirement as purchasing eligibility, which is defined as PR visa or citizen (AU or NZ) (https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/enablers/residence…). I am wondering if anyone has some suggestions on decent travel insurance that works for student visa, or some alternative way?
Many thanks in advance!
Travel Insurance to Japan for International Students in Australia?

Thanks!
www.comparetravelinsurance.com.au - Non Resident Travel Insurance
Personally I would go directly to the company website rather than buy through the comparison site, just make sure you are on the respective Non-Resident page, e.g.: www.insureandgo.com.au - Non Permanent Resident Travel Insurance
It seems all of the above require you to have valid Medicare or Private Health Insurance. I should expect that this is so they do not have to cover any continuing medical treatment once they have brought you back into Australia.
Many thanks!
