Ok, so I'm looking for a desktop to start learning graphic design, video editing and 3d game dev. I started by looking at older Xeon workstations with Quadro gpus. Since then I've read many articles and forum posts that say Quadro gpu's are not really worth it vs equivalent GTX cards.
As such, I have been looking at getting the best i5 or i7 processor with at least 8gb of ram and some sort of a GTX card. I have an ssd that would go into the new build. This is what I am looking at the moment: eBay Is this decent or would a quadro card be better in areas like 3d design? If anyone can suggest a better desktop deal or builds under $1000 that would also be appreciated.
Yeah apparently they have crippled Geforce drivers for certain applications, which is something I would not have believed. I don't think I'd be doing anything too resource intensive for a while so might just go with this or something similar.
