She'll get 10% off as a student. You might also find some stores undercut that like Officeworks at $1,327. (That's the best price I could find on staticice)

The only better 'deals' are on refurbished or ex-display models. Apple Refurbished

Or there's a thriving second-hand market, such as through CeX (~$900),
