We are planning on heading to the snow this year again. Last year we stayed a in Talbingo which was a 1hr drive away from the snow. This year we want to stay on snow and thinking Perisher or Thredbo.
Can anyone recommend any cheap places that would preferably have 2 bedrooms or 1 bedroom and pull out sofa. (Realistically child will end up sleeping with me in the bigger bed, hubby on the other from about 12am)
Don't really want to drive very long to get to snow. We don't ski or snowboard. Maybe toboggan a little, but last year it was mainly just for the fun of playing in the snow. Which is what it will be this year.

did you go to selwyn last time? would make more sense to go there instead of perisher from talbingo
to be honest if your only going to let the little one play in the snow with the toboggan its probably the better optionWe did go to selwyn. But we do want to be on snow this year.
I do understand that it will be much more expensive, but I was hoping anyone will have the best options as we haven't been on snow before

its different to places in jindabyne as there is pretty much no vacancies on every weekends in peak season

those self contained is the station which about 15m drive outside jindabyneno kitchen or microwave and thin walls
still good pricing for what it is

i stayed the station motel rooms…i haven't stayed at the apartments before
though the prices indicated at for the motel rooms not the apartments
If you want to stay at Thredbo/Perisher, be prepared to pay.
These chalets are the cheapest I could find on Stayz, but it looks like somewhere you'd go if you wanted to get murdered. ~$140 per night ish.
Everything half decent then shoots up dramatically in price. $400-$600 per night seems to be the going rate for non-share rooms in Thredbo.
I got an email yesterday advertising rates for perisher in the $150-$250 range per night for self contained apartments — check this link out.
