Help Me Get a Good Price on a Suzuki Swift MY15

I am trying to get a suzuki swift, and my local dealer (i think it's an Australia wide deal) is 16990 drive away, with 15months free fuel ($100 coles myer gift card per months for 15 months). So I was wondering, what kind of price would I be able to negotiate to?

Thanks so much.

    Try them. See if they can give you a better quote.

    there probably isn't a huge amount of room to move but surely you could get $1500 off straight away by doing away with that stupid "free fuel" promo.

    the best deals on "new" cars are always on dealer demos. find a dealer with some MY15 dealer demos sitting around and they'll be willing to talk serious turkey to get them off their lot.

    the swift is a good car - highly underrated. good choice. however, don't forget to have a drive of the main competitors - the best ones being the mazda2, VW polo, ford fiesta and Honda jazz. the jazz in particular is an incredibly versatile and spacious little car.

      Could you tell me how much I would save on fuel every week if I opted for a Suzuki swift 2015 over a Toyota Camry Altise (sedan) 2015?

      • +1

        Forget the fuel saving, thats 2 different size cars. Work out what size car you want first.

    • Thanks for the advice. They rang me up today giving me a $17500 offer after cashing the $1500 for an auto. Which is so far off there promotion. What would be a good price that I can get the car for? So I know what to ask. And as for demo, how much are we looking at for that? Thanks

  • Suzuki QLD is different company to Suzuki Australia, kinda hard to help from other states :/

    They're currently $15,990 drive away in the rest of Australia, no fuel card. But I don't believe there's many, if any, 2015 plates left.

  • Agree with the others.. take the $1,500 off the car instead. on such a cheap car, pretty hard to get it discounted much more. Are you looking for auto or manual

    • Looking for an auto. They rang me up today and said they could give me a price of $17500 after cashing the $1500 fuel offer.

        offer them $16,000 see how you go. worst they can do is say no. to be honest negotiation is a pretty basic life skill in the first world. you really would do yourself a favour to give it a go rather than ask inane questions on a forum here :)

      • How? You said it was $16,990 with the $1500 fuel card… How can they now say it's more?

        • different car, one is manual, the other is auto.

          @PVA:

          Yeah worked that one out now

      • sounds like you need to go to a different dealer. as @spackbace said how can they increase the price then take off the $1500. makes no sense. The only thing i can think of is now the $16,999 is for manual and now you want an auto they are adding that as extra . This must be an offer only in QLD because when i goto suzuki.com.au and select VIC offers,the price is $15,999 including free Auto. So as a minimum i would be aiming for that.

        On a side note the QLD offer is for $1500 fuel and 15 months free servicing

        • Read the OP's Link and you will find your answer $16990 is for a Manual

    says $15990 drive away and free auto.

    • Suzuki QLD isn't Suzuki Australia ;)

      • They can drive 30minutes and buy it at Tweed Heads.

        • No they cant Suzuki QLD supplies northern NSW. They would have to go to Grafton

          @RockyRaccoon:
          I see. Well it was a thought.

  • I've spoken to other dealers interstate. And I got a quote for $16000 including delivery for a 2015 model including Victoria rego. And 2016 model for $15700 including delivery but no rego. And the QLD $16990 for 2015 model drive away, but with 15 months free servicing (2 or 3 services). Is it worth the effort to get one interstate for a bit cheaper l? Or should I just get it in QLD?

      • Yeah, I do have a Victoria licence. You are right, probably best to work with the dealer here and sort out a price. But since I'm going back to them, I don't think I have much room for negotiation.

        • Services are $199 each for the first 2, so you're getting the car for $16,592. But that's for a 2015 model :/

        • @Cheap Charlie: Although sometimes it works out the other way. I ended up driving to another dealer for service as my local dealer was ripping me off on the service. Claiming they were servicing things they weren't (I even marked things to prove the point after the first time)

        • @Cheap Charlie:

          This guy speaketh the truth lol

          Oh and these have CPS for 5yrs, pretty hard to get stung
