I'm looking for a viable place to buy the dlc, however, all I can find is the one from Bungie's store, and I don't want to pay that price. I bought the limited edition awhile back, so I have both DLCS before this one.
Any place that sells TTK (The Taken King) Destiny DLC?
Comments
yeah, but by not buying it I'm stuck with such a redundant game, and bad thing is, I paid 120 for the limited edition when I was up for preorders.
Damn, I feel for you…I'm bitchy enough after paying $24 for the base game! :'(
I'm not worried, I bought the base game, reached level 28 and got bored of it and sold it for $10 less than I paid. Then bought TTK LE digitally on sale for even less!
@Where's_That_Cake: How I wish I was in your shoes. Destiny certainly did not live up to it's hype and I had to pay the price to for it. And maybe even continue paying. Sigh…
Just save your money for a better game which does?
@Maz1: Then I'm stuck having paid 120 dollars for a game…? That doesn't work?
@Ghosteye:
Sell the game? Cutting your losses before you spend more money seems like the way to go.@Maz1: Would you buy a second-hand game that didn't have any DLCS included, and most all of the limited edition content used up by the previous user? Another downside is that by not having the DLC and just the base game, you are limited to almost 1-2 hrs of gameplay time before you're blocked by a content wall.
@Ghosteye: That's the sad but honest truth I'm afraid, hence my ire at Bungie, who are essentially blackmailing their own customers into re-buying the same product just to access the same functionality they previously had, under the guise of DLC/update.
TBH, if I were in your shoes I would be contacting FT/ACCC about this, it smacks of really underhanded business practices…for $24 I can let it slide, and gift my base copy on to family; however, for $120 I'd definitely be kicking up a stink! :/
@StewBalls: Do you think the ACCC would help me? I mean would they actually be able to make bungie do anything?
@Ghosteye: Well, a reasonable person might argue that the literal withdrawal of functionality due to TTK shenanigans was not in the spirit of the ACL, quite anti-competitive actually…possibly rendering the product you actually purchased at a premium price no longer fit for purpose through no fault of your own.
I'd at least be asking for a pro-rata (if not full) refund based on the premium price you paid. You never know til you have a go…I'd first write to Bungie & their local distributor, and tell them how pissed you are; and that given the said price you've already paid that you'd expect them to do either of the only two decent & reasonable options: 1. Provide you with TTK DLC at no additonal expense, or 2. Provide you with a refund or credit to a value of your choosing. Be assertive but professional about it, but let them know in no uncertain terms that you are willing to escalate the matter to invoke your consumer rights if necessary to get satisfaction.
I actually did something similar with Simon & Schuster many years ago, I was pleasantly surprised by a US Fedex package delivery within two days of said email…sometimes it's easier for them to oil the squeaky wheel than for that noise to start spreading around their consumer base! :)
@StewBalls: Hmmmm, alright. I'll give that a shot. Thanks for the advice!
@Ghosteye: I'm afraid you aren't going to get anywhere.
@Where's_That_Cake: might as well be worth a shot
@Ghosteye: Absolutely, you never know until you try.
Bungie really tried to pineapple Destiny owners with TTK upgrade, send them a message by not giving the greedy bastards a penny more!!! :/
