GOing to test this out on my new Vodaphone Smart First phone to see if its playable. Great game on iOS so will be interesting to see the Android version.

I just hope they dont do what they did with Reckless racing on Android and basically kill the game that people had previously bought and make you buy it again (must have been some oddity with company takeover or something).

Edit: after turning the detail down on the game(keep it at full resolution though) and enabling the 60fps mode it plays quite well on this phone. 60FPS mode is only accessible from the main menu graphics settings, not from the pause menu/graphics. Does seem to slow down the framerate a bit though after a few minutes of play, perhaps some thermal throttling going on with the processor?? Or low memory issue.

Paid version of Shazam still has intrusive ads. Might just stick with the free version because they're almost identical.

It's just 20cents though… paid it with my Google rewards balance

    • +1

This was exactly the reason I would pay for Shazam, no adds.

It's trying to be a social network, and attempting to get you to buy the stuff you Shazam with it. But, it doesn't have ads like the free version one.

Poor Shazam, it was amazing technology when it came out in 2008/2009, but I never even use it any more, I just say "Ok Google, what's this song?" these days and Google does it for me. It must suck to have a revolutionary product idea, and have Google come along and do it for free a couple of years later.

Still, I bought the Encore version on iOS and Android, so I suppose I did my part. It isn't like they were going to extract more money out of me.

how good is Reckless racing? read the reviews still not fully convinced in spending my free 20cents from surveys…

    • wasnt that good, lagged abit (note4 edge) i got my 20cents refund after 5 mins

  • I've got shazam encore on iOS and still haven't worked out WTF is it meant to do lol differently than the free one :p

    spotify FTW

  • Hmmm I've been using the Shazam Encore from an Amazon App store freebie and never had a problem.. Not sure if grabbing the Google Play version is worth parting with my hard earned $0.20 of Google rewards credit.

    Shazam or SoundHound?

    • +1

Shazam much better and fast.. Soundhound most of the time can't recognise the song.

      • The opposite is for me

        • Likewise during my tests.

Actually, I found that some songs work faster on different apps.

So, hard to choose. I went with SoundHound, liked it better.

        • +1

@justmiike: and apparently you can't sync saved music where soundhound you can

    • Shazam or SoundHound?

Shazam was a great show !!!

    • SoundHound recognises songs just from singing! Provided you don't sound like a dying cat and butcher the song ie ^^

  • I was racing so recklessly I almost failed to notice the in-app purchase obstacle. The accident would have cost me at least $0.20 in damages.

    • +1

      Ummmm… no.

  • I had $0.40 left in my Play balance :P

  • I have $20 in google play credit from surveys. Any other suggestions on some good purchases?

If you use public transport and haven't got it already, the paid TripView app?

      • The free ones do the exact same thing though, and you really only need the app when stuff is not running on time, and it doesn't help you then at all!

        • That'a what I thought until I got it! I find the layout and how you navigate the app easy and efficient, and the info it provides is worth it. If you have internet on then you can see real-time data which provides info on if your bus/train is early/late, as well as service info and info on delays and news which is something that other apps don't tend to have.

I've arranged my trips so that if I need to check my usual trips I only need to tap my screen twice which is handy. I find that I use TripView all the time when I'm travelling, whether it's a regular trip or something out of the norm.

(Otherwise, I've heard that the Marvel Lego Superheroes game is pretty decent! I'm saving up for it myself - less than a dollar away but the surveys have been real slow these days.)

  • How on earth do I change my survey country to oz from UK?

  • If You have a google music subscription you get an extra 10% off.

    $0.18 Ftw !!!
