  • Do existing members get the free icecream too?

    • +1

I thought I was a previous member & I got the ice cream offer after signing up. However the T&Cs say the following so maybe I wasn't a member, if so you'll receive $5 credit - let us know which one you get:

Offer – Free Ice Cream For New El Social Members - Terms and Conditions

      then

Offer – $5 Credit For New El Social Members Who Were Previous Order Of San Churro Members - Terms and Conditions

I'm not sure if that $5 credit would be instead of the ice cream or in addition.

Edit: Existing members do receive both offers - image here

  • I overheard from a San churro staffer that the existing membership is getting canned. No more 10% off.. can someone confirm?

El Social will be replacing OSC cards however they will continue to be accepted until 31 March 2016. Order of San Churro cards and San Churro El Social cards cannot be accepted together. By registering with El Social you agree to forfeit any benefits associated with the Order of San Churro card.

Didn't you have to buy 10 hot drinks to get the card to give you the 10% off originally?

  • thanks for posting!
I never knew there was one at Bankstown Sports…not that I'm a member anyway :(

Just look around, make sure security are talking to other people and go in. I do that all the time

Or even get a membership, its worth it for the free coffee/Hot chocolate you can get from the machine. Its 2 per day i think

  • Let us know if the ice cream is any good. As my local is not that close to me.

  • Just signed up and I can't see a free ice cream offer in my new account. Just "4 HOT DRINKS TO GO until next free drink".

    • +2

Mine was there when I logged in approx 15 minutes after sign up, they also sent an email at the time with the subject "Welcome! Here's your FREE ice cream!"

You need to click the > arrow next to "4 Hot Drinks To Go" which will show the next ice cream offer, hopefully it's there now or appears soon.

      • Ah ha! Those diamond dots aren't an obvious user interface design to me (I'm used to circles for those type of menus) and I now see FREE ICE CREAM. Thank you.

        • What's with the down votes in this comment thread?!

        • @tanoshiiki: was wondering same thing. Someone must not have used their quota for the day.

        • @tanoshiiki: fixed it : )

  • Just claimed my free ice cream here at harbourside san churro

  • Tried to sign up but it didn't work? I'm an existing member.

    • Signing up didn't work, or you signed up but don't have the free ice cream offer? See previous reply if it's the later. Hope that helps

      • The first, but I've emailed them.

  • I was an existing member, but didnt have a card or login - I was getting their email etc, and just got my free birthday churros email last week.

It signed me up as a new member instead, and gave me an ice-cream voucher.

Wonder if I'll still get a free churros on my birthday email, since my actual birthday isnt until tomorrow….

    • They'll probably still accept the birthday email voucher for a few weeks at least, when you received the email this program didn't even exist.

    • Same situation as you, how do I get this credit? Used the same email address that I had to get the emails…

      • Yeah, I did use the same email address - it still didnt recognise that I was an existing customer - and I never had a card - just signed up online - I don't know what they use to check accounts, but it certainly isnt name or email address….
Ah well - heading their tonight to take the family out for Birthday Churros - Fiesta for $15 with the voucher - thats enough for everyone

  • Went to the QV one and it is closed for renovations after Ozb raided it

Says will be open again from Feb so hopefully it will while the offer is still on

Ice cream would have been nice in this heat!

  • Once registered, when does the free ice cream expire (e.g. 6th of March or X days after registration)?

    • +1

Ah yeah it's 2 weeks after registration (up until the 6th of March), I'll update the deal:

Offer valid on a member's account 14 days (2 weeks) from the sign up date of the member

      Thanks

  • Did any of the previous members get the $5 credit? It's not in my account.

    • +2

I emailed them to find out why the $5 credit wasn't in my account. Turns out there was a card called "Order of San Churro"; so if you were only a newsletter subscriber, you are not eligible for the $5 credit.

"I can see in our old system that you were a newsletter subscriber. As such, for signing up, you will receive the free ice cream.

The $5 credit was only issued to members who were Order of San Churro cardholders. This was issued automatically if the email was in the previous database."

Thanks OP free ice cream and local store is quite close to me. Wish I had the $5 too but can't be too greedy haha

  • DAMMIT I thought my two weeks was up today not yesterday and missed out -_-
