  • Currently trying some soy based protein at the moment and I have to say it is a lot easier on the stomach than my usual whey based shakes. Anyone here use soy based protein long term able to give feedback about it and also if they have some info on the comments going around about soy based proteins increasing estrogen levels? I'm keen to purchase a few kilos depending on the feedback.

Check on Bulknutrients.com.au, they have a beef based protein which there are a lot of very positive reviews about. From what I've heard about soy, men need to stay away from it as much as possible as it can lower testosterone.

      • Thanks @rick_o I've almost finished the small sample of soy I got but I don't think I'll buy any more after some of the stuff I've read, it's just that the soy is easy on the gut. So I'll stick to the whey and check out this beef based stuff at Bulk Nutrients. Cheers

Soy booby scare mongering is incompatible with the consensus of credible science. Usually it comes from people who are invested in producing or drinking milk / protein from actual (bovine) boobies.

Phytoestrogens are largely impotent in mimicking female estrogen. Most evidence points to their health benefits. Bovine milk comes from animals that are heavy estrogen producers - lactating cows, often between pregnancies, often in pubescence. Do you want to be ingesting plant estrogen or mammalian estrogen - think about it.

As for any institution that bashes soy: do a Quackwatch search before taking any serious notice. You may be surprised.

All the best in your own research.
