I need to vent.
I bought a chair from officemax mid last month due to a deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/230769
I paid for the chair and waited over a week before the chair got shipped, then I continued to wait patiently until two more weeks had passed and no chair had arrived. I called their customer service and I was assured the chair was on its way. I waited a few more days and called their customer service and told them I hadn't received my chair and I was no longer willing to wait and I wanted a refund.
I had to argue a little because they said I would have to return the chair I never received. They eventually tracked the chair down to their shipping warehouse. It turns out it never left and had I not called I would have never received it.
I then ask for a refund but was told that I could only have a refund after it returned from their shipping warehouse back to their furniture area. I tried to argue that I never received the chair so it shouldn't matter whether they receive the chair or not as it was never in my possession and I should be entitled to a refund regardless of where the chair is located.
They disagreed and insisted that I wait. So comes Thursday and I was told that they had the refund processed and I should be seeing the money back into my credit card by Friday morning.
It's not Monday and I still have nothing.
I called up officemax and they're now "investigating". I am about to do a chargeback to my credit card because this is so ridiculous.
Had I not insisted that they investigate the location of the chair in the first place I would still be waiting for it, had I then not called about my refund I would still be sitting around waiting for it for months on end.
This is simply not good enough and I am really annoyed I have had to waste my time calling them and nagging officemax and they still haven't gotten my money back
Give it a week. If you don't get your money back, chargeback.
