So I was bored at work and searching for some good over-ear headphones (old ones are kinda completely on the shit side) to use with my new amp and I ran across this deal for the Urbanite XLs & I bought 2 (extra for a m8).

Read a few reviews and they seem mostly positive (Pretty much think of them as refined beats solo 2's - kinda)

As far as I know only the android version can be shipped to aus according to amazon, havent really checked for the IOS versions & as far as I know this is the cheapest this headphone has gone for (in aus $ atleast)

Also not really sure when this deal ends

  • Why do headphones come in Android and iOS versions?

(I know it is something to do with the inline control, but no idea what!)

Also, the link sent me direct to the iOS page … did it auto-detect my browser and choose which page I should see?

    • I could be wrong, so someone might be able to elaborate or correct me, but I've noticed inline mic and stuff work differently between typical connectors (like android) and the iOS ones. Like the mic should be on and mute when the button is pressed, but it does it the other way around, or you may get volume problems (usually the mic though).

Personally I reckon apple just wires them up differently so that they can make "apple branded" versions. But thats just my opinion, someone might have better, or more non-bias info.

    • The way that the volume control is implemented is different if I remember correctly. I do remember seeing someone modding Apple one to work with Android one by soldering resistors and stuff to the control. It didn't really look to me that it's worth the hassle to me though.

  • Shipping says ~$40USD, making the total cost ~AUD$220? can anyone help?

    • So apparently, its only ~$183 each AUD if you purchase 2. Buying one will cost around $208, should probably add that somewhere in the title/description.

  • Standard shipping $62.07 no thanks

    • It's actually $63.52 AUD shipping for the Denim (Android version). It is now $208.64 AUD shipped. Deal is over because the shipping price hike ruined it.

Honestly $63.52 shipping fee to deliver a headphone set?. That's a ripoff. I suppose they're making their money back through the ridiculous shipping fee.
