I've just ordered another of this monitor. Seems like a good deal for a 24" LED HD (1920x1080) monitor delivered.

I ordered one last week with the same coupon, and received the screen on Friday. Very happy with it. Now they have it $50 cheaper to begin with aswell. Nice energy efficient screen (uses ~20W).

I love my Dell 24" LCD (E248WFP) - using monitors under 22" feels strange now :)

i love my Viewsonic 28" LCD - using monitors under 24” feels strange now :)

i love my 50" panny - using monitors under 50" feels strange now :)

    LOL!

    • lol you ruined it! It should've been "using monitors under 28" feels strange now"! HAHA

  • do you know when this coupon expires? cause i am looking to buy it, not sure how soon i would be able to get it though..

    • Sorry, but I have no info about the expiry date. I do know that a friend of mine used the same coupon ~2 months ago to buy two monitors from Dell.

  • and "they" say size doesn't matter.

My next monitor will be a 32" FULL HD, LCD, LED, 3D Samsung TV that i'll use to replace my 28" Viewsonic as my PC monitor. unless Dell or some company makes a 30" or 32" LCD, LED, 3D, 2560 x 1600 rez PC monitor lol I would always oped for the PC device over a consumer electronics.

  • Is this a glossy or non-glossy screen?

    • non-glossy.

  • Should i buy two of these?

    • Or maybe three? Or even five or six if you've got one of those new Radeon cards.
More seriously, yes, two of these would work well together. They've got a pretty small bezel so they can be nice and close. Having matching monitors always looks nice too. I've been using two monitor setups for ages but always with two different monitors. I think it's probably also a pretty good price for a decent dual 24" monitor setup.

  • almost as good price as what I got my 2409 for in 2008, $283 at that time.

  • Seems like a good price, just wish the stand was better. From http://www.zdnet.com.au/dell-g2410-339296020.htm :
"unfortunately, this screen height is neither adjustable nor is there a screen rotation or pivot option — useful if you prefer portrait mode. The capability to tilt the screen back 25 degrees is the only ergonomic feature included."

    • Yep, but it's better than my dirt-cheap Acer one where it's tilted forward and you can't fix that. I figure it's better to get this than buy a proper stand for my old one lol.

Anyone know of any cheap replacement adjustable stands around?
Update: I'll cancel my order and get the adjustable one: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/23521

  • where does it say it is LED other than this post??
Dell says LCD and nothing about LED….an ok price for a basic monitor

    • Link is to the wrong monitor I think. The G2410H is the LED backlit height, tilt and swivel adjustable monitor which is the same price as the G2410 and has just been released http://configure.ap.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=au&l=en…

Edit: The coupon above does not seem to work with the G2410H for some reason. The H model is the one I'd be going for however - just need to find another coupon to work with it.

      • yeah doesnt work for with that monitor either the reason is Platinum Member discount

    • The G2410 and the new G2410H are both LED backlit.

The G2410H has the additional feature of hight-adjustable/swivel stand.

  • All G2410 has issues with the Energy Smart Plus/Energy Smart mode, the light sensor is too sensitive and the monitor's brightness will change time to time every several seconds in these modes, which is an epic fail for this monitor

    • Are you able to turn this feature off ? if you are then you wouldnt think it would be such a problem

      • this is what it says on their website:

        Ambient Light Sensor
        Dynamic Dimming
        PowerNap

"All of the above features can be turned on or off through the Dell Client ManagerTM"

    • I always turn off such a feature, even on my laptops as I hate the brightness changing while I'm working away. It's a useless feature imo, but the fact you can just disable it does not make the unit an epic failure.

  • I have this monitor, just turn off the Energy saving option and it's all good :)

  • Hi,

How does ASUS VH242H (24", 3 year pick & return warrenty for ~ $275 delivered) compare with this DELL monitor?

I saw the below offer from Online Computer and can't decide which one to go for.
    http://www.onlinecomputer.com.au/product_info.php?products_i…

    • Looks pretty good! The Asus has an HDMI connection and stereo speakers that the Dell doesn't.
Would be interesting to find out who actually makes the LCD screen

    • The Asus use ordinary CCFL backlights whereas the Dell uses LED, which consumes less power and produce higher contrast.

  • Could someone point me to the "dead pixel warranty" please?

  • this monitor has no big difference with other brands, only DELL Ultrasharp is high performance LCD

  • nice deal, however U2711 FTW (3011 RGB LED FTW - if only it existed!)

  • LED Backlit does not mean LED. They are two different things…

    • When I first heard about LED tv's I thought they had actually made LEDs small enough and only found out that it's merely backlighting when I looked into it. I guess proper LED displays will be limited to 12m outdoor screens and such. Still, the blacks with LED backlighting are supposed to be deeper and better for movies. CNET rekons this Dell is the best buy for a 24", although they were looking at the $260 USD price-tag.

  • Just wondering, how long before anyone got a confirmation email from the purchase? or does it take a while? cheers

  • is this better than a 2407WFP-HC monitor?

  • meh, no hdmi

  • that deal is not on any more right? i've tried and it's 339 with the coupon applied.

what do you need hdmi for? it's a monitor

  • Ordered one today, $254.14 delivered ($100 off and -15% coupon).
    Thanks.
