Hi all,
My daughter had hers slip from her hand & naturally it missed all of the carpets & landed on the front camera-corner & cracked! Seriously, she's been so careful and just got up too quickly & it hit the only tiny area of the floor that's tile— gah!
Anyway, I tried to find a new one (whole phone) & had TWO orders, with different sellers on amazon.com, bail out after waiting weeks— only to say "sold-out"…
I figured, "screw-it" & I'll see about changing the screen myself, but alas, cannot find one! I won't use "alibaba" as they have horrible feedback.
Do any OzB'ers know or use a reputable place for this sort of thing?
TIA,
G
Aliexpress is the place to find spare phone parts.
But it's a really weird off-brand that also has no hope of having spare parts commercially to buy. If there was a big enough market for that brand, I'm sure you'd easily find a vendor that sells digitizers and frames for it, but I can't find any.
Unlike Samsung or iPhone, many lower-tier ChinaDroid brands have very short production runs (and extremely short lifecycle) and are manufactured usually in a fairly small quantity, before the manufacturer says 'screw it, we're making the next version!" and then move onto making a new model to sell. Hence you won't see spare parts. Batteries perhaps, but maybe not the screen.
But since it's a cheap-arse phone that sold at around a hundred USD you're probably better off just buying another one, rather than buying a screen and attempting self repair (which is also risky).
