Please help me find a bargain on an Android phone

So, bubs dropped me nexus 4 (for the zillionth time) and this time it did maximum damage and rendered the phone useless.
I had to run and buy me a Huawei ascend Y520 (just the cheapest phone for $149 in JB hifi in Darwin) - which is extttuuurrreeemmmeeellly crappy compared to the nexus 4.
But I figured, we'd need a spare phone around anyway, so this huawei shall hopefully serve its purpose.

I am currently looking for a bargain/discount/clearance/anything but retail price on a good android phone. At least as good as a nexus 4. All my google-fu over the past week has led me no where. So I ask my fellow ozbs for help.

    whats your budget plus what screen size of mobile you looking for?

    In general, recent deal of Xiaomi Redmi note 2 is value for money for $180…

      As long as its a bargain, I can stretch. But am generally looking to be below $400. Obviously, the lesser the better.

        I don't recommend that phone as it's lacking a quite a few essential 3g and 4g bands.

        It supports
        3G: WCDMA 850/1900/2100MHz (Missing 900mhz, meaning it's not ideal for a lot of telcos like Optus, Vaya, Jenee and so on)
        4G: FDD-LTE 1800/2600MHz

        The Xiaomi Mi4, Mi4c, the Redmi Note 2 and the newest Note 3 are the best Xiaomi phones you can buy right now. The mi5 is coming very soon though but it will be expensive.

        Other phones you can consider is the latest One Plus X

        Try returning it and get the 4gx buzz imo. But I would recommend the xiaomi note 3

    $469 i know it's above but if you liked the nexus 4 it only seems right to go for the latest nexus while this isnt the bigger 6p it's still a very nice device.

      Sweet, I like the nexus the most. I googled for the recent most prices and found this to be under 400.

        Not the same phone.

        That is the older generation Nexus 5. Released in October 2013.

        469 is about the right price for a Nexus 5x 16gb.

        I got it from GearBest and yes it does have a case and screen protector in the box.

      any adware or ads on this thing?

      I have a Lenovo k3 note and it's pumped full of advertisements.

      literally cannot unlock the phone without having to click the x on a 'win and iphone' ad.

      sooooo annoying and has been happening since day 1.

        Nope, I haven't seen any adware or ads.
