What's wrong with south east Asia stopover?
nothing more painful stopping in singapore at 6am till 10pm in blistering hot heat, tired as hell, then just to fly to dubai when all you ultimatly want to do is get to rome.
well, if you want to stay a few days and check it all out thats fine, otherwise it just adds time to your already super long flight. would rather keep flying and transit time to a minimum
whats ur departure town?
look into flying to chennai or mumbai in india, with air asia, then book seperate flight from there to rome
I think one flight, one booking is safer. if your original air asia flight is rescheduled or delayed, then you might miss the connection. The second airline isn't responsible for that.
yep, have to put a 2/3 day vacation in on the way. all time vs money
Not sure about flight deals, but if you plan on going to the Colosseum, to avoid the lines, go get a Roma Pass, they have special turnstile entry at the Colosseum.
i just walked through some side park straight in, does that sound familiar?
Yeah, past a huge line. This was in 2010, so things may have changed.
also on the colosseum, you cant book the underground tour online, which also means you skip the huge queue to go and pick up your tickets from a different window. plus you get a sweet tour underneath the arena, and taken up to a higher level than the general admin ticket

warning - can be notoriously difficult to book online. I ended up calling to italy and it took about 30 minutes. repeat and spell out all email addresses or confirmation numbers too
be careful
never met so many scam artists in one country
gypsy kids trying to rob me
gypsy lady begging for money then drives off in merc
random man drops ring on ground he picks it up hands it to me and demands money.
some bloke pretended to be lost, asked for directions, then wanted money for petrol despite giving me a 1500 euro leather jacket for free, i told him to sell the
jacket… gathering a pacrtner in crime would recoup the jacket later on
breakfast at some restuarant that cost 40 euros, nothing had prices, and misses was hungry
football players that dived more than the Chinese Olympic diving squad.
i was there 3 days ffs
Are you talking about flights? Keep an eye on SkyScanner, that's my preferred source. Anything around $1500 or less is a good price for a 2 leg, minimal stop over flight (eg, 1-2 hour stop in dubai, not 10. And only stopping in dubai not asia then dubai) to Europe.
