I currently own an HTC Desire 816 and am contracted to Telstra on the "Go Mobile BYO - $40 for 7GB" plan till December 2016. I am looking for an Android phone that costs less than A$400 with the following minimum specifications:
Display size: 5.5"
RAM: 2GB
Storage: 32GB (The HTC Desire's one big downside is its paltry 8 GB internal memory)
Network compatibility: Telstra 4G LTE
I greatly appreciate any suggestions for such a phone in this price range. Thank you!
Where did you see the Moto X Play or Style for under $400 AUD ??????
Xiaomi redmi note 2 prime. Only issue is it doesn't have the new 700mhz 4G band.
Thanks for your responses. I like the specs of some of these the ASUS Zenfone 2 and some of the Chinese-branded phones but I worry that they contain a lot of bloatware that can't be uninstalled as I am not rooting my phone. Also, my other concern is incompatibility with Telstra's 4G LTE network.
3rd party bloat can be uninstalled on the latest ZenUi Launcher. Just have to hold onto the app from the drawer and drag it onto uninstall. Haven't tried the Asus apps cos I don't hate them/ don't expect them to uninstall.
And if you get a Taiwanese stock zenfone 2 should have that band from memory (eBay seller qd_au is an example)

Wileyfox Storm. You would have to have a delivery address in the UK but the specs and price look like it is worth the trouble. Amazon sells it too
