First time car buyer. I have decided to go with new Hyundai Accent Hatch 2015 AUTO(black) for 15K. Is it worth buying?
If I buy a car, how can I save on fuel price?
Thanks!

Service and repairs $2000
For 1 year?
Basic service by itself no, but also allow for tyre changes, major service some unscheduled repairs on average I would suggest setting $2000 a year aside would be good advice..once bought a car and didn't get it checked, first service and repair was $8,000 lesson learned :P
Depends on the car, but the OP wants to get a 2015 model. Any repairs needed would be covered by warranty.
@ozhunter:
It is an average per year not only for first year, also not all repairs are covered by warranty, also tyres etc are not.
The $2000 per year is average.. you can argue and split hairs.
Me out
do you like it?
can you afford it?
if answered yes twice, buy it….
BUT….which model? why did you choose that car? why buying a new 2015 when you can buy a new 2016? (yours will be instantly 1 year old when it comes time to sell), does it have tint, mats, everything you want?
I finalized 4-5 cars. Everything else except this are old ones and they come around 10-12k with no warranty or dealers warranty. But this is a new car in clearance with 5 years manufacturer's warranty for 15K. I am on P license, so thinking manufacturer's warranty would suit better for me. Not sure whether it is worth paying 4k extra for manufacturer's warranty though.
MODEL:HYUNDAI ACCENT HATCH 5D ACTIVE 1.4P AUTO 2015 (BLACK).
Yes, I can afford this car and I'm planning to buy outright. My budget is 10-13k but I am happy to pay upto 17K if I get a good one. This car doesn't have tint and I'm not sure about mats.
The 2016 model are expensive.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
DO NOT BUY extra warranty, or paint protection, or any BS treatment on the seats or anything else the stealership tries to sell you…..
send this guy an email and get a quote from him
http://autoexpert.com.au/contact-save
it's free
ask for that model, year, colour etc… add mats and tint as required
see what number he comes back with
$50 he's the cheapest you'll get
I bought a 2010 Hyundai iX35 top of the line & had it 5 years. Not an ounce of trouble & can vouch for Hyundai reliability. Only sold due to caravan purchase & need for heavier tow vehicle.
would take a total cost of ownership approach.
Car purchase price and stanp duty $assume $15,000)
and resulting finance cost about $750 based on above at 5%
(approx 5% per annum even if you pay outright, otherwise you could still invest the money or offset against homeloan)
loss o value/depreciation per year about 20% give or take, about $3000 initial year, then absolute figure decreasing
Fuel approx 10c/km, 25k = $2,500
Rego $800
Insurance $1000
Service and repairs $2000
Total: about $10,000, fuel is only a quarter, change in fuel consumption won't make a huge difference.
Best advice, look for a car that retains value and has low annual maintennace cost.
Actively seek to reduce actual KMs you drive.
All just rough figures
You may find fuel is not such a huge component at the end, usually depreciation
